Wow. @_@

Where did you find that?!

The Zelda II: Link No Bouken was from Toysonthelinehk.

The AV famicom was purchased with help from a fellow DP member. Its bright, but the AV famicom is running through a VGA box on my tv.

Congrats man being a famicom av+famicom disk owner as well.

What i like about the,Famicom av&FDS is it's compact and has the audio&video for it.

Put the two together and it doesn't take up much space.

I got a used copy of Subarashiki Kono Sekai for the DS a couple of days ago.
It is complete, and looks really great! (IMO, the sparkly Japanese cover is cooler than my English one)

$11.50 from a U.S. seller. :)

I just recently got my replacement Japanese PS2 in the mail along with my N64DD.

Sim City 64DD is suprisingly charming. The most intresting new feature on it is the ability to zoom into your city and walk around in first person mode. You can also encounter lots of strange folks in the city who will give you a quick opinion of how you're doing via thought ballon.

Doshin the Giant is quite playable for non Japanese speakers. Most of the gameplay elements come through in the form of pictures so it's pretty easy to tell what your objectives are. That said, the menus baffle me.

Doshin the Giant 2 is still completely baffling to me. I kind of know what's going on based off of the sparse information out there on the internet, but I still can't make heads or tails of what actually is happening or what my objectives are. More research time is needed.

Twinkle Star Sprites: La Petite Princess plays much like the original, however, some of the charm is lost in the transition to 3D. From our Classic Gaming Night crew, the universal response was that it was missing something that the original had. More time is needed with the game.

Switch (PS2) looks identicial to the Sega CD/Mega CD game except that the "monument" explosions have been re-rendered to a higher quality and to feature significantly more poop. I haven't worked myself through the entire floor plan yet. I'll probably get to that this weekend.

You kidding me, that bad boy was open the day i got it. Although i baby all the LE additives like they hold the only cure for cancer.

The game is really really good. Its what you'd expect from arc system works if you've played their guilty gear games and hokuto no ken (i haven't played battle fantasia so i can't confidently refernce that). It has its own unique twist with its engun system which kind of acts like marvel vs capcoms assist system but its a lot more balanced. There's also a one hit kill system that plays similarly to Hokuto no Ken's.

It was definitely worth blindly picking up

I only played it once (when DJBM brought it to the store earlier this week), but I can say it was a lot of fun. It's true, if you really like the other games then definitely buy it now. Myself, I'll probably wait until the "best" version is released before I get it. Either way, its a must buy (now or down the road). Looking forward to playing it again tomorrow at SJC.

How much did that cost you and where did you get it?

I kind of want an AV Famicom (Boxed preferably), though I shouldn't spend the money since I'm currently in fund raising mode for a house. Although I could probably find some more things to sell to fund it.

It looks like the normal price on eBay is $150+...just checking to see if anyone knows any bargains out there?

I can beat CV1 np realy it's not that impossible on the nes.

It's just a matter of trail and error for it meaning playing it many times, untile you get it right.

Though i will agree the save feature for CV1 on the fds is convenient.

I can usually clear NES Castlevania in about 15-20 mins no problem. I was hoping this version had some kind of enhanced music and sound like Zelda II and Dracula II, but it does not.

The newest and most of the most hilarious games I've ever seen is Toilet Kids for the PC Engine. If any of you have ever played the Namco classic Xevious, it's pretty much a clone of that game, with the enemies being poop, ass, and penis themed. It's pretty ridiculous(ly awesome). Watch out for the poo tossing apes, flying penises, butt planes, and other such gems. :)

This is a cross post with August 2008 finds :)

Well, I picked up my best value find recently. I was looking through a very out of the way game store when my eye drifted to the NGPC games. Normally I don't give loose games a look, but one caught my eye:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3280/2763089630_e951fb0186.jpg?v=0

Koi Koi Mahjong! Loose, yes, but an R9! Listed in the guide as $200/complete... I look at the price tag on the back of the shrink wrap -- ~$1.50. Yikes! I made it to the store and bought that as quick as I could.

The tag actually had the date it arrived at the store -- which was 5 years ago. I guess nobody else in this little town was looking at loose NGPC games, either.

My other big purchase was a bit more pedestrian -- a nice, minty big lot of N64 games:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3201/2762246835_2d33f729dc.jpg?v=0

I bought the entirety of the rack on the left (minus the rack itself, of course) for a bit south of $200. That's about $4 a game, including some real quality games, too. All the games are in fantastic and complete condition.

A nice and lucky weekend last week.

In another thread we were discussing the value/rarity of a Dreamcast Super Black system. well, i got a bit lucky and found one in the wild for a pretty decent price (considering what it can go for) -- about $250. The box isn't 100% perfect but is still nice, but the console itself is perfect.

Astra Superstars (Sat)
Psychic Storm (Duo)
Zanac X Zanac (PS1)
UK Faselei (NGPC)
Rockman Power Battles (NGPC)
Kuru Kuru Kururin UK (GBA)

Almost finished with my PS1 and Saturn collections, only a few more games to go. The Duo collection is just starting however. It's going to be an expensive next couple of years until I'm done with that system I suspect.

RadiantSVGun, nice find on the FC Ys games!

I also went on an Ys kick and bought both Ys I & II Eternal Story and Ys III for the PS2 and YS I & II Complete for the PC (Vista Version). Ys Eternal Story is basically the PC version except for some small PS2 extras but with some annoying bugs thrown in as well. The PC version wasnt hard at all to install and, with the patch installed, I love it immensely :) Ys III is actually not bad at all. Its not the best remake it could be, but I actually enjoyed it very much!

I won this on eBay from a U.S. seller for only $1.75 back in August! :D
(I finally got around to taking pics.)
