The MC (PC Engine Fan version) cost me about $130 through RisingStuff (highly recommended store, BTW). I've seen either PCE version as low as about $85 (loose) or about $180 (complete) so I think I did OK.
Don't get me started on what the US version costs. You could buy the PCE version, a PCE console, and a TV to play it on for that much. ;)No need to recommend Risingstuff to me. I live in Japan and can find stuff cheaper than they offer it. Getting MC for the PCE isn't an issue for me (other than the higher than average cost compared to most other PCE games)
In other words, I have a couple PCE consoles and access to shops that sell Magical Chase. That's why I'm curious what the US version costs.

Ah, fair enough. :D
The one in the pic is the JP version (I have a region-modded Duo-R). The US version goes for insane amounts of $ (and no jewel case) which is why I went for the PCE one.
The US one doesn't show up very often. Since I started collecting (about a year ago) I've seen a loosie go for about $400, a loosie + manual for $800, a complete boxed one for $1300, and a factory sealed one for $3K (which has now been relisted on eBay with a BIN of $8000 X_x).

I realize that this is an A and B conversation, but you asked him how much he paid for his copy of Magical Chase, which is OBVIOUSLY an import title since he posted it here. So of course he's going to respond w/ how much he paid for the JAPANESE VERSION of it. If you already know how much the Japanese version costs then you probably shouldn't have asked him how much, since not only was this posted in the import section, but it's clearly the Japanese version (you can tell b/c it has a white border around the image on the manual cover).

You'd think that the cover having "PC ENGINE" written on the cover would've clued him in... but nope.

Good score on those konami gb collections they have a lot of fun games in there including one goemon game that never made it to the west apart from in that collection & it's translated into english too (well it is if you got the european versions hehe)
Last of the stuff has turned up (well nearly), the ds is to replace my japanese red one as it's too rare for regular abuse. Gave the free game in it to my mum as i dont want that shit in my collection.
The only thing i bought was the Yugioh card almanac the rest of them i got for free as a gift :) (BONUS)

My most recent import acquisition isn't a Japanese import at all: I just got an Amiga CD32, Canaduh version. :D No games tho... Seems like a cool little system at any rate. Not a ton of stuff released for it, unfortunately, and almost no RPGs, but there's a handful of computer games that I was semi-interested in playing without going through the process of getting DOS box and all that (not being a computer gamer kinda guy).

Alright, the last thing I got was a FM Towns game and two 6-button pads.
The game is Blandia Plus! Apparently this is incredibly rare (so the seller thinks). Expensive but not bank-busting. Came with a user-made (i.e. pasted together) movelist in English (and a photocopy of that) which is interesting.
It was listed twice; both times it failed to hit the seller's reserve price, but he let me have it after I had the top bid the second time.

Got a Tobidase Daisakusen new in its box, one I'd been on a lookout for for some time. Like $13 shipped, though it shoulda been in a cardboard box (little crush line on the side of the box, not at all major though). It's a game I've wanted to get for a long time, and I think I'll be passing on getting the separate TD-branded 3D glasses (although the box is about big enough to hold them). Someday I'll have to find and buy the sequel.

If you break it down according to the lot price, than alittle more than $12 each. At one time I had three import copies of Perfect Dark, but this was back when copies on ebay were going for $60-100. And yes, I sold one of my copies for $100. I'm not completely sure but I think Perfect Dark only maxes out around $50 nowadays, or atleast thats around the price my last one went for a few years ago.

The famicom av is a good model i use one though there are a few down sides to it.
No microphone on the controllers and some third party controllers will not work on it,such as the joyball and the XE-1 Pro fc joystick.
Heck i still need to get a original famicom i so i can use the XE-1 pro fc :p

Those downsides doesn't really matter to me at all. I _needed_ an AV Famicom because RF never really "made it" in Norway (and other places in Europe). The NES was the first "real" console we got, and it came with AV jacks. Only the really old TV's (Atari, Commodore 64 era) had RF jacks.
By the way, are Famicom regarded as an expensive console to collect for? Seems like most of the games I initially want are in the $50-$100 range. And why can't I find Crisis Force or Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti ANYWHERE?

got the PS3 Bayonetta yesterday. can't put it down!
yea, i know it comes out here next month. whatever.
i do find it weird that all the menus and dialog are in english.
for some reason Enzo sounds like Joe Pesci. i'm sure it was intentional though.

I know where you can find Splatterhouse actually. Don't pay too much for that one.I found it for about US$35 a few days ago.

True, and also vice-versa. Look at Castlevania (Akuma-jou Dracula) on the Famicom. It's usually around $100.
That's because it's the rare cartridge re-release.
On the other hand, the cartridge re-release of Zelda should not be as expensive (although I didn't get it as cheaply as I could have).

On the other hand, the cartridge re-release of Zelda should not be as expensive (although I didn't get it as cheaply as I could have).I usually see it for $20-40 here, often closer to $40. That's local, so importing would add on a bit.

Not sure if I'll keep it or sell it... but I'm leaning towards keep.

O_o
Whoa, what IS that?! A... handheld PCE? I've never seen it before. And is that a TV tuner next to it? You could watch TV on it?! COOL!!

Nah, it's the other way around, as far as I know. Can't remember exactly.
Nice find!

Recently picked up Judgement Silversword from an online store in Japan. I <3 Google translation tools. It finished my "trilogy".
