I think he also threw in 2 games for free since I counted 70 and the auction only listed 68.

Square Enix 360 rpg music cd promo $4
Alien Trilogy demo(Saturn) $2
Bust a Move(Groove in the US) soundtrack $1
Ninety Nine Nights demo(360) $5
Ninja Blade music promo $1
Bust A Move 2 demo(PS1) $8

I guess I was in a demo mood. I know why Square Enix made that promo for their rpg's in Japan but I doubt it was as much as an enticement as they would have liked. The good news is that I'll be able to sell it to a Square Enix fan for a healthy markup fairly easily.

I last got the SFC versions of Zelda: ALTTP (Kamigami no Triforce) and Super Metroid (which is apparently identical, ROM-wise, to the North American release).

Not much to wow people with, I realize, but if anybody can believe it, I'm 30 years old and had never played either of these. I watched my friends play them, sure, but never had the chance to play them myself. I finished Zelda over the course of the last two weeks, and I suppose I'll get to work on Metroid in a week or two (though I suck at both shooters and platformers, so I'm not all that optimistic).

Wow I never knew Super Tempo was worth that much.
Neither did I. I figured $50-100, to be honest. When I saw it, I knew that it was a good deal.

There's an ebay sale where it's listed as $319. On Sega-16, there's an article mentioning that "Copies have been going on eBay for well past $300 for some time now." (http://www.sega-16.com/feature_page.php?id=430&title=Hands-On:%20Super%20Tempo). One commenter on a YouTube video of Super Tempo is saying that it's worth $500 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPMDK1QB6j0). Of course, he also says that Radiant Silvergun and Panzar Dragoon Saga go for $300 (I thought they were $100-200).

On some Japanese used game websites, it's around $60-70 for a used copy, although every store is out of stock of this game and has been since I was looking up this game for someone else a few months ago.

So, if someone wants it from me, I'll happily take a straight trade for Radiant Silvergun. They can try to sell it to make up the other $100-150 that it's worth over R.S. :)

I'd be surprised if anyone took me up on this, but then... obviously some people are willing to pay these prices.

Might be my best find yet. Still, it goes beat the guy that paid $450 for a ton of NG AES games including Neo Turf Masters. That was insane.

Mine comes with 3rd party adapter, but did Nintendo just expect everyone to have an adapter already when the AV Famicoms were released?

I just picked up a PAL Playstation, it came with a SCART cable and memory card but no power supply. I've got a couple questions...

Do I need to get some kind of alternate power adapter or step-down transformer, or can I plug in a US cord into it and the power supply inside the console will adjust?

Can different region memory cards be interchanged, or do I have to use only UK ones?

I'm assuming that I can use a NTSC video cable in place of the SCART cable, since I'd doubt something like a composite out socket would be region-specific.

I don't know about the power supply, though I suspect you DO need a step-up (not down, I don't think) transformer, but maybe the Playstation's power supply does support multiple voltages.

As for the composite cable, no, composite cables aren't region-specific. But what you're missing is that European TVs scan at 50 Hz, while US TVs scan at 60 Hz. So even though the cable will work, you'll need some kind of adapter to convert the signal, or else you'll get a very screwy picture on your TV. Edit: I should add that composite cables aren't NTSC, they're just cables. It's the signal going through the cable that is NTSC or PAL.

It might be better to make another thread about this (or see if you can find a relevant thread) to see what the best way of going about using your PAL PS1 is, because I don't really know much about PAL systems in general or PlayStations in particular.

1 Sharp Famicom Twin AN-505RD, RGB modded.

DewmanSNK performed this mod to my specifications and it turned out great. After the PPU switch and amp build, he replaced the small RF 5 pol din connector with a Megadrive/Genesis/SMS 8 pol din connector, and wired the RGB and sound with the Megadrive/Genesis/SMS pinout. Any standard Megadrive SCART(or otherwise) RGB cable works out of the box with this system.

I also gutted an old PS2-Neo Geo controller adapter and made an adapter to use my NES 4 score through the 15 pin expansion port. No more short controller wires. Well, unless you need the player 2 mic. But that's rare.

Nah, not really, $100 for Umihara Kawase and $110 for Chi no Rondo.

Unfortunately I discovered that Ghost Sweeper Mikami for the PC Engine is a graphical adventure, and not a platform/beat-em-up like the Super Famicom version. I was sure that the Super Famicom version was just a port of the PC Engine version, so I'm trying to make a deal which gets me Super Darius for the PC Engine if I return GS Mikami.

Miracle Girls! Been looking for this CIB for some time now, and it arrived today. Pretty addicting, though I'm sure it was meant for 10-year old Japanese girls when it was released.

Now I just need to find DoReMi Fantasy and Ghost Sweeper Mikami, both Super Famicom, complete in box, then I'll lay off the SFC for a while.

Bit over a month ago I picked up three Mega Drive games laying around at a trade shop and in March I imported Tenchi Souzou for SFC. I also picked up Nights into Dreams in late March for like $7 CIB+spine card from another trade store (not pictured).

I got generic Sega cases for Genesis carts from a collector; they don't hold Mega Drive games securely but they can still keep the cart steady unless you shake the crap out of it on purpose, heh. That plastic nameless case the SFC cart is on is the size of an NES cart. I wouldn't know who makes those or where to get more but if someone recognizes that case, I'd like to know where it comes from.

Today my Saturn stash got here. The box was torn along the edge and I was hoping that the contents were secure enough that nothing flew out the slit. Luckily nothing is lost. :)

(If the pics are missing, they've been deleted.)

I didn't scale down the jewel case display. The game obscured by camera flash is Langrisser V. I got some variety here so I'm glad.

When I came across the deals I spent so long reviewing what things were worth and how much everything would cost, that when I finally got around to actually ordering, one of my chosen items was already out of stock. Oh well, I'll get Riglord Saga 2 some other time I guess. Well I had to make my move since it listed the sales as expiring in less than a day.

It was an awesome deal. Next time I wanna get the SFC stuff I'm waiting on. That'll be fun, too.

Congrats on getting that Saturn lot (and both Lunars in the process)

my Saturn pics got to you bad didn't they? lol

Interesting. How well does the game fit?

I would love to find good cases (or even dustcovers!) for Super Famicom games. Right now, I use SNES dustcovers for all my games, which works okay, but it would be even better to have cases/dustcovers designed specifically for SFC/PAL SNES. I wonder how well those "universal game cases" work with SFC. I imagine there's at least a slight bit of sliding around...
