not really considering the best editions are 2900 yen new in stores still in Japan, they even come with a price sticker or even printed on the sleeve direct from the manufacturer.

Going by recent currency rates 2900 yen comes out to about $37.79 US, so that's really not bad.

Lode Runner for Famicom (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140718730037&ssPageName=ADME:L:COSI:US:1123), 1991 version?
I have never seen this until a couple weeks ago, and since apparently nobody else wanted it, I bought it.

My guess is it's probably just a reprint of the 1984 version, but I guess I shall find out soon. :)

Yeah, guess I have. LOL After the year I've had, I felt I deserved a treat. Since I've always wanted a huge stack of Famicom games, that's what I got. I actually have more Famicom games now than NES games, which is something I never thought I'd have.

Been awhile since I posted in here but the last of my imports finally arrived:

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1316.jpg

Japanese PS2 with Basara 2 and Samurai Spirits 5 $80
Primal Image(PS2) $2
Primal Image Printer(PS2) $4.50
Wrestlemania 2000 import(N64) $2.50
Pocket Prowrestling(GBC) $6

The PS2 lot was alittle more than I wanted to pay but I'll probably sell the two games to defer some of the cost. I actually almost won another import PS2 before this for $37 but got outbid by someone with zero feedback at the last minute. However, three weeks passed and they still didn't pay for the item. I sent the seller a message asking him to send me a second chance offer but he refused and choose instead to keep waiting. It wasn't until I started looking for another Japanese PS2 when I realized how much these things are going for. The system by itself or bundled in a lot usually goes for more than $100, sometimes even clearing $200. However, you can still occassionally find cheaper ones. I would have never known this had I won that first auction.

All the other games were pretty cheap. I haven't tested out the Primal Image games yet and I'm still alittle clueless as to what PIP is. I mean, it says it's a PS2 game but I guess you can somehow print stuff from it. I only grabbed it because of the price. So far I'm not really liking Pocket Prowrestling because the enemy AI is super cheap. And I will need to hook my N64 back up before I can play the import version of Wrestlemania 2000.

Also been a while for me to post in here too, but this thread seems pretty dead now... so I'll make an exception haha.

Package came in last Friday. I was out of town for most of the weekend, so I didn't get a chance to check out the stuff til tonight. Just finished unpacking, bagging and boxing. Mostly famicom stuff. Some ps2 and audio CDs.

That's actually my 2nd CIB copy of Time Zone... was too good of a deal to pass up. Might be good for trades or something. Zyuranger... well I hate the game, but thought what the hell. Need it to be "complete" with my sentai famicom game set.

To put it into perspective, there are only 2 documented cases of a famicom cart sold. The previous 2 went to private collectors in japan and were nothing more than a bare cart with a hand drawn label. Here is the second one which I archived since yahoo japan auctions disappear a few weeks after auction close.

Who the hell is making those fakes? I mean they are essentially extremely good looking pirates that can fool someone into thinking they're official retail releases. That's what I don't like about them. At least that fucking garbage pumped out of Hong Kong and Taiwan is painfully obvious to spot since they usually make no effort to imitate the appearance of the actual games they're bootlegs of.

Are these working games too? I wonder what's on that PCE CD. FC emulation or an actual port to PCE hardware for Rockman?!

At least that MD game is easy to spot since the real game on FC (and the PCE port of the first title) is called 忍者龍剣伝, not 忍者外伝. Even worse, it's using the overseas box art.

It's a complex topic which is not appropriate to discuss for this thread, therefore I don't want to elaborate explicitly.

But I will point this out. Consider the bootleg situation with Sapphire that illustrates a primary concern about fake/pirate/bootleg/hacked/unofficial games being made. That adjective cluster isn't synonymous but rather a collection of a variety of types. There are people that try to sell the Sapphire fakes as the real thing for big bucks, deliberately or otherwise; we don't need this behavior to propagate. There's already a bunch of assholes on eBay trying to sell the Chinese pirates that are totally worthless as "ultra rare" FC games as if they're the real thing.

Anyway, I can contribute by saying I got an uncommon/rare title lately.

But does it support the save feature and extra sound channel, or is it a reverse-translaion hack of the NES version?

Latest import: Metroid Fusion Japanese, for the hard mode and gallery options that I think are missing from the English (or is it the same effect as linking the EN version to Prime?). Is it possible to reset the unlockables on that to play it "like new"?
And a CIB Game Boy RPG called Masakari Densetsu.

Well if i wanted to know the story the u.s version.Still i give the japanese version the edge,no annoying voice acting and it comes in a jewel case at least.

Btw i never like how soa sold the sega-cd games in the long boxes it took up space.

I can see where people would (1) like the long box and (2) dislike the long box cases for Sega CD. I actually think the long boxes are kinda cool, but I hate how fragile they are (imho). I lean more towards the japanese versions these days for consistency since that's what I collect these days.

Won a second Saturn hss-0130 arcade stick. Now I got 2 of these bad boys. This one's boxed. Best stick for the Saturn (imho)... basically looks like the panel of a SEGA Astro City arcade machine that's been cut off and modded for console.

Won another sweet FDS to famicom cart conversion with all the bells n whistles. Never thought I'd find this one.

Ai Senshi Nicol by Konami. This one looks just like the one Parodius Duh obtained earlier.

Just got a recent purchase:
Famicom loose carts:
Mitsume Ga Tooru (very nice condition)
Meta Fight (slightly dirty. But I'm guessing it's just an effect of the aging white plastic. My FF2 cart is also pretty dirty and won't come clean)
Super Famicom CIB games:
Pikiinya. Cover is a bit sunfaded, but it was still a lot cheaper than ebay. :)
Kishin Douji Zenki - Battle Raiden (box is a bit crushed, but it wasn't very expensive. I hear it's pretty fun, like Hanage, but much easier. Footage I've seen shows very nice graphics.)
Mahoujin Guruguru. A bit bending but okay. Not sure what this game is exactly, but I think along with the sequel (already ordered) and I'm pretty close to a full Enix SNES/SFC set (well, full as in owning at least one variant of each game. only missing DQ3, Jutei Senki, Itadaki Street 2 and... some mahjong game. :P )

Nice, I can definitely appreciate the Neo AES goodness!

Stuff that came in last week and over the weekend. PS3 Macross LE 30th Anniversary Box (game, DYRL movie bluray and other stuff), Totoro Bluray, Dreamcast Gunlord and some famicom pirates (Super Shinobi 2 port, Zen Intergalatic Ninja, Another Jackal, Kickmaster, Joe & Mac, Last Action Hero). Usually I only pick up pirates of games that were never officially released in Japan.

The awesomeness of the new Macross goods that just came out. DYRL and Macross Flasback on blu-ray. The game and other stuff is just icing.

The legendary Totoro finally on blu-ray. The first Ghibli movie I've ever seen and by far my favorite.

You can find imports on ebay, Amazon, as well as new stuff from Play Asia. Some of my imports were found locally, some were gotten by me from a friend who'd get them off Japanese sellers on ebay, and some I got from US sellers off ebay.

Wow, that's a few expensive games there.

I imported a CIB copy of Twinkle Star Sprites for Saturn. Was a bit disappointed to open the case and find the game CD loose. I tried ripping an ISO with ImgBurn. It finished without any errors, so hopefully it's still good. I noticed a circular scratch near the edge of the Omake disc. Also ripped an ISO with no errors reported.
Also got a CIB SFC Knights of the Round, after a guy on ebay never sent me a poor label US cart. Guy said he was going to refund me, only after I had to report it to Paypal. Nearly two weeks later, no refund. Do I just as well wait for paypal to refund me?
I figured I better order a Mega CD copy of Keio Yugetaiki before that becomes exorbitantly expensive. Ordered some obscure Famicom memory card attachment called the Battle Box, loose. Even though I don't know if my AV Famicom's expansion port is working. Good thing I happened to get the only game I know of to support it (Armadillo) with my last import order. (although the product description says it doesn't use a battery. So... does that mean it probably uses an EEPROM for storage?)

^^Yeah, they weren't the cheapest, but I did get them cheaper than ebay prices. It just feels good to finally get them after all this time

Iron Commando... NICE. One of the harder to find games. Nice pickup with Gourmet Sentai too.
