Obviously you haven't spent a good amount of time with the Atari 5200 controllers - you NEVER forget those suckers after they eat up so much of your life with frustration.

Yup, in fact the Flashback unit looks to me modeled after a 7800. Haven't picked one of these up yet myself ($50 is crazy, it should have been $20 from the start). What would someone that already owns this say is the value you've gotten out of it?
(Please refrain from saying "it's a collectable new Atari looking console, that was the value" since I already understand that.) ;)

Does those thigns even have a cart slot? I could see wanting one if it did, but if not that's pretty well a ripoff.

Nope, they're solidstate one-make units just like the Jakks TV games series of all in one joystick systems.

The Flashback uses the NES-on-a-chip hardware, and contains (shoddy) ports of the games. Everyone I've heard from says it's pretty much rubbish for gameplay. Hold out for the Flashback 2.0, which will allegedly feature real 2600 compatible hardware, and provisions for soldering in your own cartridge port, so I'm told.

Strarberries is a chain of stores for cds, games, dvds. Pretty small store size. Usually I find the prices to be higher than most other electronic stores.

Funny, it's $14.99 at my FYE.
Actually TWEC is the parent company for FYE, Strawberry's, Coconuts and Saturday Matinee.

As for me, very little... the joysticks are WAY too small and I can't play for more than 10 minutes or so before my hands start cramping up.
