Has Pepsi ever gotten into a U.S. game other than Coke Wins? I'd love a game where I'm a Pepsi deliveryman sent out on a great adventure...

Has there ever been a video game starring a guinea pig? If so, I must have it!

Will I ever cut down to 5 systems or less?

How many in these forums besides myself actually likes country music? Johnny Cash is the man!

I wonder if anyone will ever put out a DVD featuring episodes of sitcoms where video games are a major plot point? Am I the only one who saw the Super NES episode of Full House...or at least the only one who'll admit it? :D

Yes, I remember the Pepsiman game...I also recall seeing some Pepsi placement in a baseball game from last year. I wasn't going to mention it, but I also saw a Full House episode with linked Lynxes in it... :)

And there's that episode of "Friends" featuring Pac-Man (or was it Ms. Pac-Man?)...

Johnny Cash doesn't really count as country music. He's in that seperate category of Awesome Stuff. Like The Band.

I only know of one game that Pepsi was in. I believe it was Fighting Vipers and to my knowing, was only in the Japanese version. Pepsiman was the name I think.

I realy dont know. Do you consider Virtua pet games to be real video games? If so, there are a number of them released in Japan. If you dont mind pushing it, Pikachu could almost be condsidered a guinea pig. Though I think of it more as a cheese log covered in sliced almonds. Cheese logs, now I'm hungry!

Will I ever cut down to 5 systems or less?

Most definitly! You will look at your systems, and think how little joy they have brought you as late, and you will read this post and realize. You want to give them to me. Not only that, but you want to give all the games for them as well. Then, and only then will you finaly have the 5 systems you cherish most. I, will simply have all the others and though it may pain me, I will strugle on knowing I have helped free you of your heavy burden.

I guess it all depends what country music you are talking about. Johnny Cash could kick the ass of any modern country music stars. Dead or alive, he was damned good. What I like is alot of the old stuff. Stuff from Hank Williams Sr, Eddie Rabbit, Waylon Jenings, Charlie Pride, Merl Hagerd, Patsy Cline (Kline?), Willie Nelson, and so many others. Its hard not to enjoy the stuff you grew up on I guess.

To a degree, they have. The only problem is that none have been colected. Seinfeild had an episode about an arcade cabnet (Froger i think), News Radio had an episode over an arcade cabnet as well (I want to say missle comand), and did anyone ever notice that there is a Sega Saturn in the first couple seasons of the Drew Carry show? Now what I want to know is why no one has aired or released the TV series Feris Buler Cant loose. I thought the TV series was good and had a rather funny episode where his friend became addicted to handheld games.

Well, hope that helps answer your questions. Should you need to further help with your third question, my addy can be provided for mailing of gaming goodness.

It was actually Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and it was Sega if I'm not mistaken. I think I have that episode on tape from USA repeats. Also, the game in NewsRadio was Stargate. :D

I remember a Gimme A Break episode where the middle daughter was addicted to Arcade games (I seem to remember a "swift kick in the Asteroids" joke).

Yes! Someone else rememberes the series. I envy your VHS colection. That series alone was a riot. Back when Fox was actualy funny. Games have been in plenty of shows now that I think about it. Silverspoon had an arcade cabnet in the living room, My two Dads (very funny at the time, not anymore) had a pinball machine in a few seasons, and I believe a number of episodes of Saved by the Bell featured games. Always with Skreetch. God I hated that show. Colecting all the various episodes of such series would be imposible from a public release, but it would make a rather interesting project from a hobby aproach. Hmm....anyone interested in doing so?

Seinfeld - Frogger.
News Radio - Stargate (but IIRC, they purposely blocked out the Stargate art on the side of the cabinet, blasphemy!) Anyhoo, it was clearly Stargate. I think Eugene Jarvis also made a cameo on that episode.

I know there's a huge difference but it looks like as close as you're going to get is that Hamtaro game released on the Game Boy Color. Not the greatest game for the GBC (one of the last if not THE last US release if I remember correctly) but the graphics are pretty impressive for the hardware.

Also concerning the "video games in TV" thing, there's an episode of Who's The Boss not far from before it was canceled where the little kid they brought in during the last season has a birthday party and he's playing an original GameBoy at the end. There's also an arcade cabinet in the background in the living room - can't remember what it was though. The only reason I know of this is because they seem to rerun that episode on TV Land quite frequently.

Yeah, I remember that - there would be a Saturn and a stack of five or so games on top of his old console TV. Hmm.. product placement perhaps? :hmm:

Virtua Hampster, or virtual. it was a tube runner game I think.

If you wanna stretch, the sensei in ninpu sentai hurricanger is a hampster or guinea pig, i can't remember which the JP version of the show claims. Anyway, he's in the PSX game a bit if you're desperate, not playable though I don't think...

Does Mojo Nixon count as country? If so, then sure.

Full House, and most sitcoms for that matter, make me scream angrily at my tv things like "WHO THE FUCK TALKS LIKE THAT?" AND "NOBODY DOES THAT, UNLESS THEY SAW IT ON TV AND THINK THEY HAVE TO" ect. So..nah. I'll pass.

Here's another one: Anybody remember the episode of "Taxi" where Louie put a Pac-Man cab in the garage? Reverend Jim became completely addicted to the thing to the point where Louie - knowing he'd get it all back - started paying Jim with a big sack of quarters LOL . This has got to be one of the earliest sitcom examples of a videogame-centered plot.

Weren't there versions of Tamagotchi that had pets like puppies, cats and guinea pig/hamsters in them?

I have the radio in my pickup truck set to a country station. That's what living in Alberta for 13 years will do for you!! And nope, I've never worn a cowboy hat OR boots.

Cash is The Man. He's so great he needs capitalization.

I love the stuff, especially the legends like Hank, Willie, Merle, but I don't have that much on CD. Don't know that much about it, so aside from obvious stuff like Patsy Cline or Waylon Jennings I don't know what to buy. I want more stuff like Hank Williams, or Willie's Red-Headed Stranger. Any recommendations?

Edit: if you haven't heard Ray Charles' Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, track it down. his versions of "Hey Good Lookin'" and "Worried Mind" are pretty amazing.

There's a line in a country song (by Waylon himself, I think) that says something like...if we sounded like we wanted to, we'd all sound like George Jones. So George is right up there with the rest. If I had to pick a top five in male country icons, I'd probably pick Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard. There are definitely others worth considering, too. Of today's current singers, I do like at least a couple including Alan Jackson and Randy Travis. Top female "real country" singers would have to include Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith, Tammy Wynette, Kitty Wells (nicknamed "The Queen of Country Music" though most of her hits were before my time) and possibly Patsy Cline (though she's kind of uptown country with her sultry voice). For the record, the title of "King of Country Music" is usually associated with Roy Acuff.

I don't have that Ray Charles album but will have to look for it. My only problem today with finding CDs of classic country singers is most seem to be hit compilations. I'd like to get more original studio albums rather than one that gives me my 15th copy of "Stand By Your Man" by Tammy.

Perhaps it was "What's Happening Now?" The original series came out in the late seventies I believe, you wouldn't have seen a Three Stooges cab..maybe Pong or Space Invaders or something.

Oh man, thanks. I'll look into all of these artists once I burn out of my current reggae-buying spree, heh. I can never get good country recommendations because I'm the only person I know that listens to the stuff.

Wow, looks like we're helping each other out. I just took a run to Wal-Mart and found this CD there. I bought it along with Willie Nelson's "Songs".

I kind of hate modern country radio because they've turned their back on the country legends. They'd as soon commit hari-kari as play a Johnny Cash or Loretta Lynn song, despite the awards these and others have garnered. Luckily, I now have XM which has a classic country station.

They had an episode in which one of the characters gets hooked on videogames and they have to 'deprogram him using board games.

It's Mayhem here... yes I know QoF is logged in, just pretend it's me instead and not her :P

Anyhow, way way back in the Xmas of 88 I believe, there was a game released for the C64 (and some other home computers) in the UK called "The Pepsi Madmix Game". What part of Pepsi was actually IN the game I'm not sure as I never played the full title, only a demo.
