For the first time I was actually in the right place at the right time...
My wife, baby and I were driving to a toy show this morning. I told her I wanted to swing into Goodwill real quick because it was still early and I might actually have a chance of finding something. She reluctantly agreed, but told me to hurry up. I went in and checked the usual shelves and found nothing. I checked the electronics section in back and between an old toaster and an 8 track player, I saw it sitting there. Now this was intriguing, I had never seen it before. But for 2.99 how could I pass it up.
I took it out to the car and grabbed the DP guide while my wife took it out of the box. There it was lightly used and in perfect shape. I fumbled around in the guide and found Kid Vid controller by Coleco with a $0 and an R10!
Heres some pics. if anyone else has one, please let me know. I would love more info.

DP says:
Description: A cassette recorder with a cartridge interface. An additional wire connects the recorder to the joystick port. Voices and songs from the cassette instruct the player what to do on the screen. The tape shuts itself off automatically to allow the input. Three cassettes (Smurfs Save the Day) came in the package. Only one other title, Berenstain Bears, is compatible with this unit. Released in 1983.

From the Digital Press "Classic" Guide.

This should be in the finds thread, but I congratulate you! A very impressive piece of video game equipment!

Thanks for the congrats...
I was going to put it in the finds thread, but I figured since it was an R10 I would post it by itself. If the mods want to move it, I won't get upset. :)

Nice find man.

Definitely an adrenaline rush to find a rare in the wild.
Far outweighs the feeling from buying something off ebay just to fill a collection gap. Enjoy the glow and pass some of that luck this way.

Congrats man! The rarest thing Ive ever found was a Fox Hunt and XCOM complete. Other than that, I have never been that lucky. It wasnt really that rare, but I found a disc only copy of Valkyrie Profile last week for $5. I seriously freaked out when I saw it. A guy was also looking at the PSX games and I told the worker I wanted it, hoping the other guy didnt see it before I told the guy. Wow... I am babbling... ill stop.

Again, Congrats on the find!

Maybe it's just me but I think that finding a r10 in the wild deserves its own thread.

Congrats!!!
