Whats the One Gamesystem you own that you could not live without? The one system that has that one game or games that you go back to time and time again?
I have to go with the obvious choice for me wich is the Sega DREAMCAST.
I never Realized how much I enjoyed this system until I traded my first one for credit for a few new PS2 games
I had a great DC collection that I will likely never fully recover :( but it was a lesson learned very quickly. sure I had all these new hyped PS2 games and a (then) new PS2 to show of to my Jealous friends but something was lacking and I missed all of my favorite DC games more and more everyday.
Then I realized just what I had sacrificed and commenced to buying another DC for $50 after Sega announced that it was departing from the console making buisness and going full into being a 3rd party software developer :bawling:
Then came the painful process of trying to reclaim what was once the perfect DC collection that is still ongoing and never ending.
I was lucky in that in the moment of my complete loss of sanity when I did sale my first DC and the majority of my collection I had kept just a few gems like Streetfighter 3:third strike,Shenmue,RE:Code Veronica and Grandia 2 but had lost soo much games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 , my King of fighters games and so many many more are yet to be reclaimed and its almost impossible to find ANY DC games in my area now.
I now have 2 DC systems the one I bought new in 2001 and a slightly abused system that I picked up from a pawnshop that thought it was a Sega Genesis ROFL I had to repair it myself and is probably the loudest disc based gamesystem ive ever heard but ive logged more hours on both of them than what should be humanly possible.
My PS2 has FINALLY got about equal play time with my trusty old DC"s" within the last couple years but If I had to chose only one ;)
Hey they say you always go back to the one you really luv and I for one believe thats true.

I could never part with my NES or Genesis. I grew up on them and as a result, I have too many nostalgic feelings for them and their many games.

the Atari 2600.
the second game system I possessed. too many memories. great addictive games. the box-art. the advertisements.
hey, it was the late 70's and early 80's. THE most magical time in videogaming ever. we thought that this is it. the top of the mountain. how wrong we were. but still #1 for me.
I want to be buried with my Genesis. :)

NES. No way I could ever live with out obscure, simple, awesome titles. I have over 400 NES titles, and I can not imagine if they magically dissapeered. I still have my original Nintendo, and most of my original games. Cheers to Nintendo for helping revive the video game industry!

I will never get rid of my Vectrex.. even if I decided to sell my collection, I'd still keep that gem.

Most likely it would have to be my PS2. I don't have very many good games for it, but it still runs DVD's, CD's, and PSX games.

if you can take 2 with one being backwards compatible, then def the ps2, as i love both ps2 and psx games to death
but if you can only go with one, i would prob go with psx. i never had one when they were out, but i got a ps2 at launch, and after that, i realized how many fucking amazing games there are for that system.

Dreamcast probably, although if I go with what I've been playing the most currently, GameCube or Xbox. But Dreamcast with my library would keep me busy for a long, long time.

Nes. I have 300+ unique games. I play that system almost daily. In my opinion it beats the gameplay of every current gen system out there

I'd have to say the DC. It has a great selection of games, and I can play emulators on it. Not the same as having the actual thing I know, but better than having no classic games.

My PC, if that counts. Otherwise, I'd have to go with the NES.

My Playstation 2...never thought i'd say that. I could play all my old PS1 games, watch DVDs.
I'd like to say a SNES but well I can't...damn you Sony.

I'm gonna go with the PS2...good games like the Gran turismo series, backwards compatible (so many psx games), and dvd playback. Too much to give up.

I can't live without my NES! It's probably my favorite system since I started my gaming hobby with it. Most of my collection is NES cartridges, and I will always enjoy hunting down more of the titles that I'm missing.
Even owning every system ever made, I would be the first to have to go with Colecovision. The games were as close to the original arcade games at the time as you could get. Even the music and sounds were identical. Being I only get one system I would hope to be able to take the Atari 2600 Adapter with it. Man, that Turbo racing wheel was cool as hell!

The one system I could not do without- hard decision, but I'd have to go with where it all really started for me(post market crash) and say NES!

Sadly, during the week that I was homeless and all my stuff was in storage, I learned that I can live without any of them.
:eek 2:
Yep....here's me, putting in the first vote for the ol' N64. LOL
Why? Simple. My first system, great memories with great games, big cartridges, primary-colored "Fisher Price" controllers, awesome platform/adventure games, especially the wonderfulness of those games made by Rare.
Some of you really should start collecting for this system. It really is great....and I wouldn't feel so alone. LOL LOL LOL .

Dude...
I've had the N64 since like 1997, played the hell out of it ever since(on and off in the past few years). And I really enjoy the system, you are not alone.
PM me sometime if you want to just talk in general about the 64 Bit greatness that is the N64. :)
