View Full Version : Bomberman troubles with modded PAL SNES

When I started importing SFC games, I finally had a use for that spare SNES I had lying around: I abused it with a soldering iron to install two switches. One to enable/disable the lockout chip, and one to switch between 50/60 Hz. So far things worked fine, and I could play all my PAL and Jap-NTSC games, including FX games and the Super Gameboy.

But now I got my hands on a very pretty, shiny and new copy of Panic Bomber World, and it doesn't work  When I flick the switch to enable the lockout chip, it doesn't even give off a video signal, and when I disable it, I just get a black screen. It doesn't matter if I select 50 or 60 Hz, nothing happens at all. Could this be because this game uses a special add-on chip? I can't find anything about it on the 'net, but the cartridge does have the extra pins on its connector.

Any solutions, apart from buying a real SFC?
