I got a Gameboy Advance SP at Xmas, and I think I decided that I'm only going to collect for this system from now on. It's awesome!! Has a huge library, lots of classic games, and great RPG's.
With all 3 gameboys, there's what, almost 2000 games?? That's good enough for me.
Is there anybody else who just collects for Gameboy???

I only collect for the original (black and white) Game Boy. I've got about 100 boxed games. I'm not sure if I'll drift into the other systems because I play them so infrequently, but I do own a handful of titles for games that I really like on GBC and GBA.

Wow DP, I must say that collecting for GB Classic is tough, especially boxed! I hardly ever find boxed /complete GB stuff in the wild. I just pick up loose carts as I go along, if something catches my fancy... Also, GB tends to be a little pricey in my area, I guess since every kid since 1990 thought that a Game Boy was cool, you don't see many games floating around since no one wants to give them up. However, I predict once the SP & gameboy player for gamecube get a production halt for good, then we will be seeing many of the GB Classic games turning up at garage sales, flea markets, and the like because of the incompatibility on the DS. I think then I will start actively hunting down those obscure GB titles!

Ya I only collect Original GB, I have around 125ish games, maybe 1/3 - 1/2 of them boxed, plus another 25 or so Japanese games or duplicates. I've collected the systems in the past too, I have 17 I think total.

Me, too. Just the B & W games for me... I am not going down the Color or GBA route (yet, anyway.)
Old GameBoy is just too cool. Looking for Miner 2049'er and Dig Dug now!

I don't collect for JUST the GameBoy, but I do like it alot.
For some reason I never did really get into the GameBoy: Color or Advance as much as the original GB.
Do you all still use the original model "brick" GameBoy too? LOL I love the way it feels in my hands.
I've played alot of Handhelds and I think this is still my favorite(PSP is starting to be in a close second place though).

No, I got rid of that years ago. I still have my master system, nes, genesis, ps1 and ps2. I just like the fact that I can grab the GB and play whenever I want, instead of going upstairs, digging out the system I want to play, etc. All the games I really liked on the nes, etc, I can get on Gameboy now.

The Gameboy Color does play, old Gameboy games, right?
What do those games look like? Do they add color, and if so, how?

Yes.
It adds color in a fashion similar to the Super Gameboy, background graphics are one tone, sprites are another. So in Metroid II Samus Aran and enemies are reddish while the environment is blue. (And might I add, it looks splendid and breathes new life into the game).

I actually play them on a Super GB or a Game Boy Light. The latter having the best screen of any GB that I can remember, and has an awesome backlight to boot. I am quite partial to the PSP too though :)

That's correct, but there are a few exceptions:
Road Rash has a programming error in it that causes it to lock up in anything post B&W GB.
Im not sure, but the Wisdom Tree games (funkiest looking games ever, they have their contacts exposed and are really weird shapes) might not fit into it. I know they fit into a Super GB, so it probably does, but I dont have a GBC here to check, they for sure don't fit into the GBA and later.

Yep, same here, except i currently only colllect for GBA. I own a few of other game, ie- GBC and Original GB, but play GB stuff so infrequently I dont know if I'll ever collect everything, Like I do on the systems side.
I could never collect for just GB though, basically because my love for system games, just plain better games of course too.

Only complete Game Boy game i own is Duck Tales 2 (million seller) aside from that, nearly all my GBC games are complete. Rarest ones being complete copies of Xena and Playmobile Laura. :)
Only complete Game Boy games i've seen in the wild are the Poke'mon and Final Fantasey titles. I've also seen complete copies Ring Rage and Sword of Hope 2.
