As if there aren't enough PlayStation variants to go around, Konami just re-released Dance Dance Revolution Konamix with the Greatest Hits label. So far only Gamestop has been carrying them, but dammit, I thought the PSX list was finished! LOL

Why Konamix, I wonder? Why not the original DDR or the Disney one?

Gooooood news to me. I thought I'd never get Konamix at a decent price ever again.

I know Konamix sold like crazy compared to the original, and especially compared to Disney mix.

Yay, more DDR for me, even if it is a crappy PSX version.

Konamix sucks. It uses the 4th Mix engine and interface and has the terrible grading system. Ill stick with MAX, MAX2, and EXTREME.

Calling Dangerboy...Dangerboy Line 1...Calling Dangerboy...

Actually this will help me out...I wanted that one, but got into DDR after it was available.

Did some research...

1. Konami re-released Castlevania: SotN and MGS to Blockbuster retailers with a GHA SLUS number. An A on the SLUS either signifies revamped code or a disc / artwork variant.

2. DDR Has the standard GH SLUS, so it's likely it runs fine on the PS2, so it was re-released as is. I have only now just seen at a Game Stop, and nowhere else for $29.99. The one PapaStu sent me from wherever has a $19.99 tag.

3. As for why releasing this one so late in the game, you have to think of it as a PStwo re-release, rather than a PSone game. What better way to mak emoney off of a hot trend then to just hit the reprint button and pay the minimum $$$ fee to Sony.

As for why Konamix and not any other one? Konami probably considers DDR too dated, and they would most likely need to renew the licenesing of the Disney characters.

If the non-collector's are lucky, maybe Konamix is a tester; if it sells well enough, maybe Konami will spend the extra money to re-release the other ones.

All I got on it. :|

I doubt it. Konamix has no licensed music whatsoever, whereas the original US DDR as well as Disney Mix are both loaded with licensed tracks. Wouldn't be worth the trouble for Konami, as awesome as it would be.

In any case, does this now mean that a DDR game is the last officially published PS1 title??? Ha ha.

Yeah, well I do! Screw your Madden 2005 or whatever crap. Ha ha.

I wonder if any other companies will follow this lead. That could have interesting results.

sorry if this is a dumb question, but what was the last psx game released anyway, other than this?

Ah yes, but you have to remember when Konamix was originally released it was as good as US DDR players could have hoped for from a territorial release and was extremely popular.
