Digital Press will be exhibiting at E3 2005.

Actually we did this last year too. E3 asked us to build a "History of Videogames" exhibit for them, and using resources from DP and Classic Gaming Expo, we were a HUGE hit.

http://www.digitpress.com/images/cge_at_e3/

Last year we were named '"Best of Show" by PC Magazine (http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,116117,00.asp), Top Ten Achievements in Booth Design by G4TechTV (http://e3.g4tv.com/feature.aspx?article_key=45), Top Ten of E3 by Xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/teamxbox/hotlist-e3-20040513.htm) and were covered in over 20 other major online sites (http://cgexpo.com/recap/e32k4/).

Thanks to last year's success and some extraordinarily generous sponsors (Midway, TechnoSource, and Intellivision Productions), the History of Videogames exhibit will roll through E3 once again! It's pretty exciting stuff. This is an IMMENSE audience, much different than the hardcore group we exhibit to at Classic Gaming Expo each year. It's a lot of fun retelling the roots of the industry to people all over again, or watching the expressions of adults suddenly faced with the games and systems from their youth in action, right in front of them.

If you happen to be at the show, please drop by and introduce yourself!

Great exhibit last year, i remember playing the Dragon's Lair cabinet. Also played the Need For Speed (3do) and Street Fighter 2 on the little tables with consoles and games. Awesome stuff. Btw, did anyone happen to yoink any of the games on that table? I remember the games laying around so you could swap games in and out as you wish, and I'm sure someone most have tried to pocket one at sometime, knowing some people *shakes fist*. Looking forward to this year's exhibit, keep up the good work :D

We have lots of "eyes" so fortunately nothing got lifted. Big crowd but good crowd.

I wish I had the opportunity to go. It would be cool if you could give away a ticket or two in the DP contest.

I wish I had the opportunity to go. It would be cool if you could give away a ticket or two in the DP contest. Unlike CGE, the gang really has no say who gets into E3. Not in the industry? Ain't gonna happen.

However, I *know* there will be a chance for a trip to CGE this year. Done it the last two years, and third time's the charm. :D

I can't wait for E3 and the fact that CGE booth will be back this year makes it all that much better. I think my favorite part of the booth was the prototype machines. Seeing the SEGA NEPTUNE was really awsome. I am lucky that I work for a company that can get me in to E3.

Sounds cool, too bad I'm not gonna be there this year. Hopefully it will be another success and you'll do it again next year when I might be able to go.

I would kill to see this live, but as long as we have plenty of visual documentation, I'm not going to argue.

Shoot a "Hola" over from Cmos as well!

I wish I could be there, but unfortunately cannot, I just hope there's something to watch/look at when it's all done with. :)

Now thats the sort of place I want to one day be taking my complete collection of sealed Dreamy games - If and when I finally complete it!

Surprised you (DP) haven't done something similar to what i'm attempting (Or have you???)

Still, I bet it was one of the best exibits at E3 - Imagine all those collector's all in one place with so many rarities and collector's items!

It's just a pity i'm stuck on this rainy little island... :(

Cool! Since I can't go to CGE this year this will slightly make up for it.

Side question: does anyone know the rules to bringing cameras/camcorders to the show? I can't find anything on the E3expo site or in the stuff that came with the badge.

Considering that it's a media event, cameras are actually a pretty important part of the experience for most folks. There are only certain exhibits where you may be asked to put your camera away but pretty much everyone who goes has a camera or camcorder in hand.

I hope that Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb (Or at least Victor Lucas and Tommy Talarico, perferably Sessler and Morgan) will show the display!

I allready know I can't come, I don't have enough money to go :(

...But that means that I can stay at home with my SNES!

I'm so glad to hear you'll be back again with the classics! My hands were killing me after about 3 hours of playing Crazy Climber. Everyone I talked to was extremely nice and friendly and I even got a nifty little collectable Intellivision goody!

I'll be there again this year - anxious to see what coin-op games you guys have on display (hopefully Tempest will squeeze its way into the mix this year).

Also - I'll have my camera crew with me on Thur shooting some new stuff for COIN-OP.TV - hope to get some interviews!

I must have had a dozen of those over the course of the three-day gig. That place rocks!

See ya at the show.

Sorry to beg, feel free to delete this / make it into a "beg for stuff at e3" topic, but could someone snag me one of the Mega 64 E3-exclusive dvds they'll be handing out at the ubisoft booth? that would rule a lot. i'd probably be willing to actually pay some amount of money for it as well.

PS it is gonna have some "E3 1975" documentary on it, if that's a joke thing or not I dunno though.

I'll be there again this year, checked out the exhibit last year and I'm amazed to hear nothing was snagged.

It's almost too bad that there isn't another half day of the show just for fun. In 3 days you can pretty much see everything there is to see, so it'd be nice to be able to go back for a few hours and just play some oldschool games for a while.

I'll keep a lookout for you. But since there was no E3 before 1995, I am sure it's a joke. ;)

Please find me if you stop by the exhibit this year. You too, Zadoc. Let's "touch base" as they say in certain unsavory business circles :)

Yeah, you won't find us on the floor plan this year because we were a very late entry.

Kentia Hall, right down the center aisle. You won't be able to miss us, actually. Last year we had two sections (the living room/arcade and the interactive timeline/museum) that were spaced pretty far apart. This year we're in the center aisle with both sections adjacent to one another.

See ya there!

I really thought last year was a one-shot deal. We were approached because it was E3's 10 year anniversary. It was such a hit though, it gave the normally quiet Kentia Hall into a new vibe, the E3 people were really happy with what we did and want us to stick around. Sponsorship is VERY easy to get at E3, since virtually any business would gladly pay up for display or advertising space at the year's largest industry event. As long as money is being thrown our way by relative (somehow related to our classic gaming field) sponsors, we're good to go.

Shorter answer: you can see it next year :) In the meantime, I'll have plenty more pics for you after this week.
