Feel free to go do trading on the gamefaqs.com forums, but i doubt you will get the same honesty, and that is what i am saying

pointing this out in the unappropriate way as you have done is just jumping on what i have said to make me look small im comparison to you, which i feel is totally unappropriate and unfair, im sure others will agree

i could understand if i gave out a blatant comment about honesty, which i didnt! i was basically praising the boards and people of them!

First of all, it wasn't even a comment directed at you. It was a comment directed at Ed. Maybe you missed the irony of the fact that you are praising the honesty of users here in a thread posted by a guy who has been MIA for the past three months after bailing on a bunch of deals he made with people. That ranks right up there with telling me how good humanity is while standing in the middle of a prison.

Second of all, for the past three months off and on I've been receiving PM's regarding these deals -- mind you, I have NOTHING to do with any of these sales, I just happened to be a moderator of this forum. I remember one PM said, "this guy ripped me off, what are you going to do about it?" If you set up deals here and rip people off, ESPECIALLY if you're an established member here like Ed was, is bad for business. First of all, it tarnishes the reputation of DP as being a good and safe place to make deals. It also creates a bunch of unhappy users (the ones who got ripped off) and leaves a mess for admins and mods to deal with later.

You can throw out the old cliched "go to gamefaqs" forums but if you go there and look you'll find I'm not registered there. Digital Press is my home. I write articles for the website. I write articles for the print magazine. I write articles for the e-mail newsletter. I run the MAME Club. I used to moderate several forums, now I serve as an administrator. I try and do something to contribute positively to this site every single day. And you know what? The stuff I do pales in comparison to the stuff some of the other people do around here, like working on the guides and improving the forums and so on. So yeah, I take a little offense to people setting up sales here and then crapping on my friends in my own backyard.

The point of my response was to point out the irony of someone posting how honest people are in a thread posted by a guy who took a bunch of people and ran, and came back not out of honesty, but because he got tired of people tracking him down on other forums and harassing him over the deals.

If you want an apology for that then get comfortable, there'll be a long ass wait my friend.

Well, before this has a chance to escalate even further, I'll address Flack's concerns as well I can. I would've rather they were outlined in the first place so we could have a meaningful discussion right off.

I understand and agree with the point about my being an established enough member here to have reflected badly upon the community, and I apologize; if anybody feels the need to "disown" me then do so. I for one am staying out of the B&S Forum for this reason. On the other hand, I'm not about to change names over this - my "Ed Oscuro" username is a bit silly, but I don't feel I should try to take an easy way out (I've had a problem with responsibilities for quite a long time, and I've got to beat it). If my poor choices follow me to the grave, so be it...If anybody has reservations dealing with me, all you need to do is say so:

Edwin Herdman, 4dwarriors on eBay. I've even been on AIM - EdOscuro - just in case anyone wants to have a good recuperative yell at me ;)

Hold the phone Flack, I think you misunderstood what Cauterize was trying to say.

The fact is, I think Cauterize was saying that you don't get that kind of honesty anywhere else but here at DP.

It was a compliment.

My point of view is how Ed is finally excepting his faults and being honest about what he did was wrong. Takes alot of balls to come forth in front of a hundred angry people.

As for the PM's, what's being going. That's not important, since the obvious has been stated before, what I've seen here is two misunderstandings.

And that's just my two meseta for the both of you.

As for people saying "Wtf". It was worded differently, to cauterize it sounds okay, but even I admit that it sounds funky. That tends to happen alot on the net guys.

Flack, ease up man, it's going to be okay. We'll get through this. I'm not here to harp on you or make you mad, just trying to clear things up since Cauterize is a good buddy of mine, and just trying to reword this for everyone so no one gets upset.
