Here come all the collector's editions. Looks like the Big N needs something to compete with the overpowering Sony PSP.

what has it to do with sony?
Nintendo is famous for releasing dozens of special- and color edition handhelds.
Hell, look at the GBAsp which had like 20 different "outfits" without any competitioner.

Anyways, one DS is enough for me at the moment.
Although the blue one does indeed look tasty.

any chance it gets an euro release too?

Nice, but I already have a DS so I don't care.

Nice color, but of course already own a DS so have no need for another.

I dont know about a blue one. But, I would definitely buy a retro Nes style model like the one they have for the SP.

I don't think this has anything to do with trying to one-up Sony... Hell, the GameCube comes in how many different colors? Three in the States and more overseas, if I'm not mistaken.

That having been said, damn is that ugly. Why they didn't bring out the Black / White ones instead or a whole slew of colors is beyond me. Blue? Yeech.

When I get a DS it'll probably be this color, unless there is an orange or "spice" one by then.

This is actually a permanent addition to the DS color lineup. Silver will be called "Titanium" or something. Personally, I think the blue looks fugly, and would much rather have Japan's metallic blue.

I agree with Goatdan too, this has absolutely nothing to do with "keeping up with Sony." x_x

That looks really kickass, but I already have a normal DS from launch and a PSP. So I don't think I should spend more on handhelds, for now.

Exactly. Both colors shouldve been available at launch. Though i probably wouldve got the silver anyways :)

I might get one of these. I don't have a ds yet. I do have a psp but that doesn't really effect me getting a ds or not. I t's still a nice system,i've been planning on getting one. I might get the blue one when it comes out. Otherwise I'll get it when Castlevania ds comes out. That's what i've really been waiting for.

This would be appealing if I did not own a DS. It's also a little frustrating b/c it is a nice color - but does by no means warrant a purchase on the color alone.

I still think that the rerelease of the new colors for the original GB was coolest when they had a transparent GB. Would be very cool if they did a transparent Gamecube - would that mess with the cd-eye reading the disc correctly?

Wow. A new color will make me completely overlook the fact that there's nothing at all on the DS I want to play. :)

I echo this sentiment. I love my Retro SP, and would love a DS that's similarly accoutred.

Hopefully they'll have black when it comes time for me to buy mine. (:

Nope, not interested in the DS, or the PSP for that matter.

for Collector's sake, I might pick one up in a few years when the new stuff comes out :p
