It's a Sega Master System
12 games (seem common) boxed
2 controllers
3d glasses
80 bucks.
Also, a 3d0 for 45 bucks.
Are either of these completely insane to pass on? I don't really have the cash to spend, but I will if I know it's a crazy deal.
Thanks in advance!

If the 3-D Glasses are in good condition, and include the adapter, I'd pick up the SMS bundle. The glasses alone are worth about $50-$60.

I'd take the sms. Sounds like a pretty good deal with boxed games and 3d glasses. You can always sell the glasses and make back some of the money. Not sure about the 3do. I think $45 is a good price, just not a big fan of the system.

Yeah, I figured the 3d0 was just a so-so price. I've had the time to look up prices since I posted... the store was closing in 30 minutes, that's why I asked here.
I think I'll try to go back tomorrow and get the system, maybe. I don't have a Master System yet, but I'm not entirely sure I want to collect for it. It seems to have a bit of a average quality to its games, and I never had one as a kid. The only one I'm interested in really getting is Phantasy Star, maybe a couple of others. However, a system with 3d glasses sounds great.
How effective are the 3d glasses? I'm still on the edge here.

I like the glasses. They're mostly a gimmick but some of the games are fun. I got my set of Ebay last year for $56 and it was CIB.
If the earpieces on the glasses are not broken than that's a good deal. They are very cheap plastic and very easy to break. When I started actively searching for a set most of the ones I saw had broken earpieces.
I have Maze Hunter 3d, Missle Defense 3d, and Zaxxon 3d. I like both Maze Hunter and Zaxxon, Missle Defense is o.k. Of the three the 3d effect is best seen in Maze Hunter.
Another thing to consider about the glasses is do you wear glasses? I do and I can't play very long with the 3d glasses as they pull my regular glasses down a lot.

I would say the master system is the best value of the two. If not for the 3D glases, then for the games included and for the future game purchases you may make for it. Not a bad system. The price would be painfull but, I would think it was worth it. If you are able to negotiate the price, see if they will knock any off.

No way, buy it and, if the glasses are in a good condition, enjoy them!!!...
Another question, ¿which games are included???, that would be another interesting point to invest your 80 bucks...
I´m a serious SMS fan and i could help you...
Cheers,

Maybe if they're boxed & minty, but loose I'd say they're only worth around $20-$30.

I'd defenitely say go for it! I LOVE the SMS and really recommend you give it a try. 80$ for the system, glasses and about 10 games is a great deal. There's lots of fun to be had with it and it sounds like a good start for your SMS collection.

Try bartering if possible.

Personally, I'd say $80 is a good price. The glasses are worth between $30-$50, as has been mentioned. Each game is probably worth between $1-$5 if common. The system is worth probably $20-40. Overall, a very decent deal.
As for the 3DO, if it is a top loading FZ-10 system, then $45 is not a bad price for it. If it is either of the two tray loading systems, don't buy it unless you want it. 3DO's tend to sell for around $50, unless it is the FZ-10 which fetches up to $60. Personally, I'd skip it, but I'm not looking for a system. If you are, it isn't a bad deal.

The master system is a good deal because the glasses alone are worth the price of admission and as long as they work and have all of the hookups. Controllers are a bit hard to find but you can use a regular Genesis controller for them. Be careful for a 3DO system. My friend bought one that was dead. The biggest problem I have found with the 3DO is finding original controllers for the system. Software is a little more difficult for the 3DO also.

Go for the SMS bundle. Are the SMS games complete? Wich titles are the SMS games? Maybe you could get a not-so-common game. For the 3DO try to negotiate and try to make him lower a bit down the price for the system.
