house of the dead III question

i've heard that house of the dead 2 is included in the game somewhere, as an unlockable or whatever. if anyone has checked it out, is it an arcade port or the dreamcast version with all the goodies? if the second choice applies, can you unlock house of the dead 1 in hotd2, as you could in the dreamcast version? it would be nice to own all three on the same game.

It's the Dreamcast version. I don't think you could unlock the original HOTD on part two. At least I never heard of this trick...

I played the crap out of HOTD2 on DC (both on the arcade and original mode) and never came across the first game.

The original was rumored to be in the DC HOTD 2, but it never came to be. Unfortunate considering how bad the Saturn version looks. Plays alright though.

The DC HOTD 2 is in the XBox HOTD 3.

Indeed, the Saturn version looks like ass. I'll bet they could have cleaned it up if they had more time, but the SDaturn was almost dead and the developer was on a tight schedule. I guess they coudln't use the Virtua Cop 2 engine? Is HotD that much more graphic intensive than VC2? Hell if I know.

Indeed, Saturn HotD does look like arse, but it plays well and has extra levels. I especially like the cheats... you can pick the lady who has to fire six shots to take a zombie down (and making them Swiss cheese in the process) or the dude who can blow off a head with one shot. Cool!

That would have been cool... I certainly would have liked to play a DC version of the original with better graphics! Never heard of it, though. Then again, I'm a moron who hides things under his mattress.

Both of the first two HOTD games were released on the PC, of course, and a release of the third is imminent. (I really hope they make a new Typing of the Dead game based on HOTD 3!)
