Hello, and welcome to another weekly feature here at DP! It's called "Friday Scoreboard", and here's how it goes: Every week I'll choose a different game at random from any console. I'll then post my choice in the Video Gaming forum. Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Get the highest score for the week. Simple, huh?

And now, the obligatory Rules And Regulations:
- No continues are allowed. Once it's Game Over, it's Game Over. (No save states, either. :P)
- No cheats or codes, of course.
- Always use the default (or chosen) settings only. This gives everyone a level playing field.
- Emulators can be used, as well as playing the real thing.
- To act as proof of your score, a screenshot must be taken.
- If anybody needs webspace to host a screenshot that they've taken, you can e-mail it to me at gapporin@onlineNOSPAM.ie (of course, remove the NOSPAM part before sending an e-mail)
- You can submit a score as many times as you want. The only time you have to stop submitting scores is after the cutoff date.
- The cutoff date for submitting scores will be Wednesday night. After that, I will tally up the scores and redeem the meseta for everybody who won.
- Have fun! :)

A meseta prize will given out to the winners of the Scoreboard. 1st place gets 500 meseta, 2nd place gets 400, 3rd place gets 300, 4th place gets 200, and 5th place will get 100. BIG MONEY! BIG PRIZES! I LOVE IT!

This week's game is FantaVision. An early title for the PS2, this quirky puzzler is all about making big explosions and racking up huge combos.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your favorite controller and let's go!

You suckers can kiss ALL the meseta goodbye, because I;m going to come in 1st - 5th.

After seeing this posted, I decided to make it my personal crusade to find a copy of this game. I knew I could get it super cheap if I could just find a friggin' copy. :)

So I had to drive a couple miles out of the way, but I found a used copy for $3.99 at GameStop (probably still overpaid for this game but what can ya do). So yea, Jibbajaba, I'll take you up on your challenge. I'm not goin down without a fight! ;)

I'll post my first scores later tonight.

For all of you who picked up this game, you've made a good choice. I really like it (it's only 1 of 2 PS2 games I own), and you can find it new for about $20, or, if you don't mind condition-wise, even cheaper used. I picked up mine for $9 at Blockbuster.

Well this game takes quite a bit of getting used to. I have no idea what a good score is, seeing as the counter allows for digits into the single billions, and the top score listed on default load is 20 million. So yea, I must be missing something, but I'll keep fooling around with it. until then, here's my defauly first score to put me in contention. I don't expect a lot of folks to jump in on this game, so I figure at least this way I'll win... something. hehe.

So there you have it... 14,547,100 is my first shot. I'm sure by the end of the week I'll probably get into a groove and tear this game apart. But until then... yea. 14 mill. :D

Once again, I declare Needle the [only] winner! Blast me and my obscure choices. :frustrated:

I promise, next week will be something fun, simple and addiciting. And not obscure. I promise. No, really.

Damnit I forgot to post my scores!!! Needle would have won anyway, but I could have picked up second place.

To be honest, I wasn't that taken in by this game though, although it was OK, and I dont regret paying 4 dollars for it.

Damn. I missed the initial post, and I even have a copy of Fantavision on the shelf. What was funny when I bought it was that even for $5 the Gamestop clerk was warning me off of it. Anyway, I sat down with it a couple of times, but I never really got anywhere if I recall correctly.

Make next week's challenge a 32 bit era scrolling shooting game.

I would have posted more scores, but I was waiting for someone else to jump in :)

As always, I'll support the Friday Scoreboard whenever I can. I was even trying to track down a copy of Sol Feace last week.

I'm ready for whatever you throw at me! Bring it!

I hope May 6th's Friday Scoreboard is a game that I have heard of, or have played.
