Please do yourself a favor, never order from buy-rite.Trust me on this one. They have the worst ordering system ever and they never reply back to what you ordered from them.To me, that was disrispectful to me and i will never order from them again.

I would beg to differ as I was promptly given a reply to my emails and received my game in a timely manner. Maybe I caught them on a good day, or you just caught them on a bad day.

Within US:

Best - NCS and Tronix

Worst - Buyrite (owned by crooks)

There're many bad retailers but nothing comes close to Buyrite, the chance of having problem with them is even greater than getting killed by Russian roullet.

I had a lot of luck with www.gexpress.com

Not only do they ship promptly, have EXCELLENT prices (at least on the things I was looking at), and engage in NO trickery (order NEW game, get reshrinked used game, ala Gamestop, EBworld, etc.)...but the one time I ordered something that was out of stock, they actually CALLED ME the same day to inform me of the situation! I was simply amazed.

As for Buyrite and their problems, it comes down to this: Their entire site and ordering system is a sham. What they have listed (HUGE SELECTION, right?) is nothing more than a listing of games that, at one point in time, were available for sale. It is NOT indicative of Buyrite's available stock, in any way, shape, or form. In essence, Buyrite's site functions as a wish list. You can find all sorts of cool things listed there, and you're certainly free to "order" them, but it's just luck of the draw if an item actually is in stock, or ever will be.
The hysterical part is the "customer service" section, where they invite you to call or email to verify that your order is in stock, being shipped, etc. Buyrite has NEVER replied to ANY email queries I have sent them, and the only correspondence I have EVER received from them was automated cancellations of my orders after a week or two ("the item(s) you have ordered are currently not in stock", etc.) As for calling them? Hoo-ha! It's actually possible to get through to them, but you will have to redial repeatedly for a few hours. I'm not exaggerating. After one fiasco, I was bound and determined to speak to a person, and I setup a speakerphone in my office on autoredial. Fuck those guys. I DID get some items from them, and they were okay, but the pain and bullshit of dealing with them is insane.

I've dealt with videogamedepot.com with success and fair prices. Also fair is their trade in prices (though I didn't send in the games, just used them as an eBay starting point. O_O )

www.therage.com I've had an iffy situation as of late. They are really good, prices, and shipping, but make sure they have the item instock, especially if it's an import. Their supplier has been stiffing them.

I also agree with Butta's vote for gamechoice.com.hk. They have some HTF stuff sometimes, or can get it within a resonable amout of time.

I have to speak out in defense of Buy Rite. I preordered Street Fighter Zero 3 and Ikaruga from them and they delivered both the day after release. I ordered a couple of other things from them without any problems.

Hey all,

NCSX - I don't like ordering stuff online, but these guys were great, prompt replies to my emails and an over all great buying experience.
These guys are great to deal with and have a good work ethic, I cannot recommend them enough.

Buy-Rite - I live near Raliegh where these guys are located, you think ordering from these guys is a pain, try shopping at their store. They are rude, nothing is marked with a price and quite frankly if anything is marked with a price it is wayyyy too much. These guys are horrible, I have to go back every other year or so to remind myself that these guys are crooks. I am glad some people have had good dealings with them, but I personally dispise them with a passion.

www.bestbuy.com

www.amazon.com
www.tzd.com
www.circuitcity.com
www.barnsandnoble.com

Those are the only websites that i know of that i can trust.

If you feel safe ordering from those places, then great! The only problem is that (excluding ebgames) they don't offer much of a selection beyond what's current. If you're looking for older games or imports there are quite a few good links above.

My favorites:

http://www.wolfgames.com - Can get pretty much any import you want at good prices (Got me Time Gal/Ninja Hayate and Internal Section) and his rare sales are the best.

http://www.gexpress.com - Great prices.

http://www.recycle-video-games.com (and the other 4 stores that are related to them) - Great place to find rare Genesis and SNES at cheap prices, plus since they have stores in Oregon and Utah, the games get shipped quickly to me :) (Plus its the only online store I have ever seen an Action 52 for Genesis at for 3.99, which I foolishly passed up...)

I find 4jays (www.4jays.com)on the expensive side for some things, but I've had good success ordering from them.

I recently bought from gooddealgames (www.gooddealgames.com) and it was a good experience. I bought VCS commons only but felt I was getting a good enough deal even with shipping and exchange rates.

I haven't used videogameconnections (www.videogameconnections.com) in quite some time but again, I found they were trustworthy.

So far my online purchasing experiences have all been good. eBay notwithstanding of course. :D

i totally agree about the actual buyrite store it really really sucks bad. they have all this cool shit on the wall but not a damn thing is marked with a price. when you ask for a price they go back to the back room for at least 5 minutes then come back with a super high price that you would never pay. if you get the nerve up to ask about another game you get the same long wait and same stupid high price. morons!!!!!! >:(

So far, nobody has mentioned www.collectorscardsandgames.com I've had a couple of good dealings with him, and his prices are pretty reasonable. His inventory list is updated quite frequently, (and is quite detailed in comparison to many online brokers) but if you DO order something he doesn't have, he e-mails you promptly in return. That's been my experience.

I've only ever ordered from 2 places, and I can easily distinguish which was best and worst:

Best: Video Game Connections - the prices weren't too bad and everything got delivered to me fine.

Worst: United Game Service - One of the games I ordered didn't get delivered and they didn't even send a note telling me why. I had to chase that up. It turned out that they were out of stock of that game, even though it was still advertised for sale on their website. And they still charged me for the postage price that included that game, even though the game wasn't sent. They refunded the money for the game only, then I demanded a refund for the postage on the game that wasn't sent. Endless troubles!

Well, I operate Good Deal Games and we're regular DP visitors. We've even been known to help out at the CGE.

Anyway, I appreciate the kind mention by Nature Boy. One thing that you might want to consider when purchasing games is the fact that everyone at GDG works on a volunteer basis. None of us have ever taken a single penny from the organization, and we do what we do for the love of the hobby! All income goes directly to operate the website, and more importantly, to expand our favorite hobby. We have licensed and released over a dozen new games for classic systems and have more games in development.

While disguised, in name, as a store, our focus is on classic gaming history and activities, and the sales are only a slim portion of what our website contains. Come take a visit and join the community!

Cheers,
Michael

LOL, throw my hat into the Buy-Rite is the worst. Another bad one is usedvideogames.com. A few months ago I ordered tons of NES games from them and they had none in stock. I mean, even if they had some out of stock, that's not bad, but when I'm asking for close to 50 games and not a single one is in stock... makes you wonder if it's not just a scam to get credit-card numbers.

I haven't checked out any of the other site listed but I just gotta say that while www.sega-parts.com is probably a very trustworthy and well run business, I can't get over their prices!

Especially since I'm Canadian...
It's impossible to find any good online stores that price in Canadian dollars...
If anyone can give me a good online place to shop for video games (besides Futureshop.ca) I'd more than appreciate it.

By the way I'm looking for OLDer stuff...

I had a shtty time with Buyrite (http://www.buyritegames.com/) ....Ordered a Metal Slug X Neogeo cart and they sent me a Shock Troopers. When I called them and told them they screwed up, they said they would only do an exchange if I sent it back on my own (I'd have to pay shipping) and after that it would take them 4-6 weeks to send me the cart I originally ordered! Well, to make a long story short, I kept Shock Troopers and said the hell with it. I wasn't about to send the game back and hope I get the game I ORIGINALLY ordered 4-6 weeks from the piont they received my package. Thats just bullshit. When you call their 800 number you can tell right off the bat that they are a shady company just by the voice of the person on their automated phone service. Sounds like one of the Sopranos or something. Nope, I would advise NOT dealing with them.

I heard stories from friends telling how bad of a place it is to order from them

www.videogameimports.com is excellent.

It is a British outfit with a monster selection of most systems. As of right now they have 253 Saturn titles listed under new arrivals. Plus hundreds of "old" Saturn titles already in stock. Everything listed on their site is in stock as well and the condition of each item is meticulously listed.

I get a lot of my Japanese Saturn games from them, as well as the occassional European oddity. Shipping can be a bear but atleast there is no sales-tax.

I got Prikura Daisakusen(Jap-Saturn very rare) from them a while back and it was exactly as described.
