I picked up a copy of Sonic Adventure at GameCrazy this afternoon, and it said "Not For Resale" all over the case and disc. Furthermore, it was a 2 disc case with a second disc that read "Sonic Adventure 2: The Trial" on it. I have a feeling that it's just a pack-in or something like that, but it's definitely new to me. And I'm sure someone on here knows what the hell this thing is.
So yeah...what is it? :P

IIRC, it came with the Sonic Dreamcast bundle, Sonic Adventure with SA2 Demo and I think something else.

Yep, that's exactly what it is.

The something else would be Sonic Shuffle with "Not For Resale" slapped all over the place.

Yes. Sonic Adventure 2: The Trial was also available with Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2.0 (I think it was Ver. 2.0 at least).

Actually, though my memory could be off and my DC cases are packed up in a box (lack of room), I really think it was the original Phantasy Star Online that had the Trial demo.

Nope. Version 1.

Figures. I didn't want to dig through my collection right now to figure that out. Two or three weeks and I'll actually have them accessable!
:)
Is Sonic Adventure: The Trial worth playing if I've already played most of SA2? Or does it have nothing special to it?

No, not really. I'm having a hard time remembering, but I believe it was just the first level of SA2.

I believe Sisko is correct, it's just the first level of SA2. No sense in playing it if you have the full game.

i just bought one of these today at EB for 8 bucks thinking it was maybe the special edition, but this is a cool label variation to have... now i guess i have to find the "not for resale" sonic shuffle too *shivers*

Strangely enough, I had a significantly harder time finding the standard release. Go figure :/

The SA2 demo has the word "hell" in it. I never owned it, but I played the demo at Gamestop in mid-2001.
Of course, the offending word was removed by the time the final game came out.

Also, Sonic had different shoes in the trial version.

And the song lyrics are left out of the trial.
