Well, as you all may have noticed from the Pics I previewed of my Room of Doom, I am getting to the point were all the systems I don't own now are gonna be a bitch to find.

For the record, the way i collect is this: If it has some type of exchangable media, I consider it a Game System. Of course, I have a bunch of stuff that doesn't meet that (Atari Pong, Epoch Baseball and Vader systems, Atari Stunt Cycle and Pinball, etc.) but I count those. Basically, I don't collect generic pong machines. So in my eyes, that little Mega Man thing with the little carts that go in it is at least somewhat of a system (hence why I have one). I include handhelds of course, they are game systems just as much as the attach-to-a-tv variety are. I don't really collect older PCs (like Commodore 64, except the 64GS, which I have). It had to be primarily a games machine (although I do have a few TI99s around).

So, here are a some of the things I am looking for. If anyone has any for sale/trade, or knows where I can get one, let me know:

1. Adventurevision (yeah, we all want this one)
2. Super A'Can
3. Visicom (Studio 2 RCA Clone by Toshiba)
4. Bandai TV Jack 8000
5. Olivetti Envision (this is gonna be a hard one)
6. Gamemaster (by Hartung I think, Handheld)
7. Capcom CPS Changer
8. RDI Halcyon (not much chance on this)
9. Video Stellar Micromat and Combat Lunaire
10. Epoch Game Pocket Computer
11. My Vision/Othello Multivision
12. Game Boy/Singer Izek Sewing Machine
13. 64DD
14. Nintendo iQue

Hmm your missing virtual boy from you collection & pokemon mini.

Most people totally ignore pokemon mini but its a great tiny little handheld & it has 10 games to collect for it. It's getting incredably hard to get a full collection for pokemon mini nowdays.

The Koei handheld isn't Othello, but Go...Pasogo should be the name.

As for other stuff...have you any games for the SG-1000 and FM Towns Marty? My stomach sort of forms a knot thinking that you might not be playing those... LOL

As for others, I'm surprised nobody has been able to turn up a source for Super A'Cans, and also that no CPS Changer units seem to turn up...

Not to thread-jack, but I just did a little search on this A'Can thing and noticed that there's a port of frickin' SANGO FIGHTER on that son'bitch. Being the world's biggest Sango Fighter whore, I officially NEED one of these systems and a copy of that game. I will pee money for it.

Of course, the original poster obviously gets first shot, since it's his posting that got me started.

Wow. Console Sango Fighter.

How the heck did I double post when I only clicked once. Darn.

Doh...I have the Pokeman Mini and the Virtual boy. I knew i'd forget some. Lol, just more proof that I really do need a good cataloging program, like I mentioned in another thread a few days ago.

And I only have 2 games for the Marty...so it doesn't get played a lot...at the moment. I will get some more at some point.

Exactly! I'm also interested in some of the other games, i.e the Sonic clone.

I don't think I see the Tapwave Zodiac in there.

Grr, I have an GX4000 too, forgot it. The Tapwave Zodiac is one I need, along with the NGage, and Gizmondo. But, they are all readily available, so I am not worried about getting them.

Since this Super A'Can business has come out a lot more than I expected in the last few days, I can't help with games or controllers, but if you need a console I have a bunch.

I used to know someone in Taiwan that I was trading with, and he found a bunch of them that all work, but for some reason were missing the screws in the actual console to hold it together. NES screws work perfectly. I can probably sell them for about $20.00 before shipping.

For power, I think you can use a Genesis adaptor (That's what I do... or is it NES... I can check). Controller is another story.

Also, I'll happily trade a console for any game I don't have for the A'Can. I've currently only got one, so that should be a long list.

PM me if interested. I probably have about 7 consoles left.

I don't think I see the Tapwave Zodiac in there.

I was so excited when this thing was coming out (to replace my clie for gaming) and if I didn't visit message boards I would have never known it even existed. Talk about terrible marketing - how is this thing still alive?

What about all the variations of the original Magnavox Odyssey. Do you have all of those?

Twitami
05-02-2005, 12:58 PM
By "all the variations" if you mean all the pong type machines, no. I have the original unit, with the overlays and playing cards and all that crap, and like 2 of the pong units that came out before the Odyssey2. I would love to get a Jopac machine, and a Philips G7200 at some point, but they are techinically not a seperate system, but a variaiton on one. Are those the ones you meant?

How about:

N64DD
Sanyo TRY 3D0
Did I miss 32X?

How about Satellaview? I guess it isn't *technically* a system....

Twitami
05-02-2005, 02:45 PM
yeah, I need a 64DD, and a Sanyo 3DO would be nice, but kind of a clone really. 32X I have, like 5 of them in fact =)

Hmm, whats a Satellaview?

Aren't there a few more cdi's? I know Maganvox made one as well. allgame.com lists out different models I believe.

Also, there are two models of saturns for US model 1 (oval buttons) and model 2 (round buttons). There are also a few more (v-saturn, etc.) for Japan.

For dreamcast your missing the sports edition (it's black). Plus, check ebay from time to time, I want to say there are a few more versions out there. There's also a customized dreamcast that goes by Treamcast, it's designed to be portable and has a built in headphone jack w/volume control and lcd screen - basically like the ps one w/lcd.

N64 - do you have the picachu one or whatever? It's got a little character on the system itself.

If you want to get picky about colors you could also include the various gamecubes, etc. That might be a big pain though, but getting rare or limited editions (like atomic purple for n64 or my gba is pearl pink - only available in japan) would be cool.

I assume you're saying that the Jopac Jo7400 and Philips G7200 are variations on the Philips G7000/Odyssey2. But I don't totally agree, since the Jo7400/G7400 can play the Videopac + games, which the G7000 can't. The "Plus" games include enhanced version of G7000 games but also some totally original games (Trans-American Rally+ for example).

I also didn't see on your list:
Neo Geo Pocket Color
Milton Bradley Microvision
Coleco Quiz Wiz
Etch-A-Sketch Animator (I *think* this could qualify as a game system)

For the record, the way i collect is this: If it has some type of exchangable media, I consider it a Game System.

This won't meet your criteria, but due to the sheer volume of games I think it should be on your list. The Sony Clie (specifically an NX model). It's a palm yes, but there are many games available for this OS (I picked the clie because it was aimed more at personal entertainment than contact management).

The clie even has a gaming controller (basically a mini nes controller) and games that were actually on consoles such as a few game gear ports (released by sega, not some 3rd party emulator.)

Additionally, there are really a LOT of good games for the palm - bewjeweled, agression, air hockey, etc. etc. I only have about 10 gaming systems and the clie is one of them - so to see your HUGE collection and be lacking that just isn't right!

No Apple Mac in the list? If the TI994/a can be considered a game system, then so can the Mac. (and, of course, the PC)

Hmm, whats a Satellaview?

Brian

Satellaview was an attachment (you could call it a system) that fit onto the bottom of a Super Famicom and received signals through (a phone line I think). The signals were full versions of games and Treasure Hunter G (by squaresoft) made it's debut on that system.

Aren't there a few more cdi's?

LOTS more.

There are like 20 pieces of CD-I hardware.

the toughest to find are going to be the 3-piece white dev system, the Lookman, and the CDi-370.

A Phillips CDI-350 went for like $40 on ebay a week or so ago....someone got a killer deal there.

EDIT: Where is the GP32 and Nintendo iQue?

No Master System 2?

Twitami
05-02-2005, 05:55 PM
Getting every version of every console isn't really my goal...I would never get there. There are a LOAD of CD-i units for instance. I have 4 total, the 350, one of the Magnavox units, a front load Philips, and...drumroll please...a Memorex CDi.

GP32 Is actually on the way, just bought one. iQue I need (any ideas?), the Etch a Sketch thing I just read about...I need that too..lol.

I have the Neo geo Pocket color, Quiz Wiz (even the 4 player version!), and like 5 Microvisions...ill add them all.

Nice list. I don't recall seeing any pong systems in the list, but that could probably be classified for a different type of collection.
