Now it is official that they are actually releasing a silver version of the PStwo, is it likely it will get a US release too? Or is it only UK?
I already have a PStwo, and countless PS2's. I thought it may be a good idea to get a US one, but in silver - But are they getting a US release as well, or have they got something else planned for the US?

I believe its UK only, but I haven't heard anything either way besides the fact that the UK is getting it. I think it looks pretty sweet though.

Don't bother ordering it, it's likely not to come in its outer cardboard shipping container sans the other 3.

Sony has been very un-variant like here in America when it comes to the colored cases. They best we've had were the limited Edition PlayStation 2's that came in red, White, Blue, Yellow, and Silver a few years ago. They were expensive and didn't like price dropping when the systems did.

Yeah why does the US get shafted on variant systems? Sure we get the nintendo love but not Sony/Microsoft.

Thats very very cool. I wish the original PS2 was that color. I don't like the black much at all.
Besides, the psychology of color suggests that silver appears more technically advanced...that silver PStwo looks like some next-gen console.

That's cause the Mountain Dew Xbox is damn ugly.
I sure hope they release it here. THAT is a VERY PRETTY CONSOLE!

Tell me about it! Mine cost $279 a few months back, just before they went out of stock... Cost me a bomb to import to teh UK too! - This, at a time when a standard one cost only $149...
And honestly - What were Microsoft thinking when thy released that horrible MNT Dew console?
It's a pity you never got to see the Crystal or Blue ones, like the UK and Canada have done... You did have the green Halo one though, so that's not too bad... But certainly not on par with what they get in Japan!

Maybe you need to check out that picture I posted again. It's amazing! Plus, that logo on that controller looks pretty iffy there. (The green one.)
It's nice to know it's official, too. I was wondering, however, if the silver is a thin coating over a dark grey controller (like a Gameboy SP) or if it is a solid silver plastic. Those thin silver coatings can scratch and look very terrible.

The new silver pstwo looks great but I also like the colorware stuff too. If the silver pstwo was available in the US I'd probably have one as soon as it was released but since it's UK only, now I'm thinking one of these colorware pstwo would be cool to have.

Why do the gods of video game customizations and limited editions hate the US? Why, oh why?
It is really sad... if you look at the vast number of random Dreamcast consoles that Sega produced in Japan... and then realize that we got the "Sports" edition... it's just heart-breaking. Sure, I like the black Dreamcast... but it's got "Sports" plastered all over it. I don't like Sports! I just wanted a black Dreamcast.
I like the Halo Xbox... but I'd like it more if it didn't say Halo on it. Of course, the Mountain Dew console probably couldn't be helped by knocking the logo off.
Well, congrats to you UK guys. That's a sweet lookin PStwo.

anyways, um, i'm not a huge fan of the red ps2 or the green pstwo. i'm not really a fan of the MD xbox's color either but i am a HUGE fan of mountain dew and xbox.(i have a giant inflatable MD bottle hanging from my ceiling) I will be saving up for one of those from ebay. :eek 2: (and no, this is'nt the first time i've heard about it, i'm just expressing my love for it.)

That didn't need explaining to those in the know... I took it as it was intended, but didn't think it really warranted a response as it really wasn't that funny to be honest.
Hell, you could have even said "Why bother getting it - It probably won't come wrapped in it's original plastic cellophane..."

No, it will most likely be the same as the other one, which is silver painted over a whitish-cream colour plastic - So if you scratch it, then it will hve a nasty cream colour showing through...
