After Square-Enix, Sega-Sammy, etc we now have Namco-Bandai. According to

and

Namco and Bandai will merge this autumn to create Japan's second-largest toymaker, behind only Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.

Nice I'm not too upset by this merger. Seems like a pretty nice match too. Hopefully we'll see some nice new Capsule toy sets with mixed Bandai-Namco characters.

I think this is one merger people will like, as well as hopefully offering gamers some crossovers with their characters and some decent games and other items.

So, if there's any more .hack games, it'd come from Namco, then?

Wow! That's very interesting news. I wonder how this will affect a lot of properties on both sides...

Sounds good to me though :)

Woo, Gundam-themed game/roller coaster hybrids on the way! LOL

Well, I don't see any problem; I think the pairing makes sense. Surely they will keep around the Namco name.

I wonder if this means that Bandai will have larger production runs on their games? I mean, Silent Bomber is a FANTASTIC PSone game, and it had a tiny run. They made a Dreamcast game for the USA with a tiny production run, too (forgot the name... maybe Macross?)

So... when is EA going to buy everything?

In the future, there can be only one.

Highlander 2 sucked ass, so videogaming is looking like a worse and worse hobby everyday.

Some info for shareholders... seriously doubt anyone here is. :)

The source I read said his all stemmed from them coproducing Kidou Senshi Gundam: One Year War.

Bout time Bandai finally merged with another company. I mean, isn't this like the 4 time they try to marge?

Square-Enix kinda rolls off the tongue, but Namco-Bandai? What will they call themselves? Nam-Band? Codai?

I wonder if they'll keep both names? From what I can tell, Namco has a much bigger game presence, but Bandai has a big anime presence.

Quality set aside, Bandai has WAY more games than Namco. One word - Gundam. There was some article last year where Namco celebrated selling their 10-millionth (yes) Gundam game.

Might I suggest Bandco? Has a good ring to it, if you ask me.

I already said it elsewhere, but there's only one good thing I could really see coming out of this: A Cowboy Bebop game that doesn't suck.

I recall the 100th Macross game being shipped, but no such landmark for Gundam...

Wasn't even Gundam. Just Super Robot Taisen according to Gamespot, although I was certain that the Japanese newsbit was all Gundam games.
