I just got this in the mail today. Paid $38 AFTER shipping for a brand new (unsealed) complete copy of this game for the Mega Drive PLUS a brand new Super Mega Key. The converter alone goes for around $50 but I paid less than that plus got MM 'TWW'. :D I am ecstatic that I finally have this... Got it off eBay (hint hint), which there seems to be a boatload of these right now. It seems like a "warehouse" find similar to the one that knocked the price of Scorpions "Taken By Force" CD from around $200 to $20. I am very tempted to buy another right now for resale but as said, the price might have dropped quite a bit.

I wish there was a password feature, though...so I could give myself 9 energy tanks. Oh well, I'll live without 'em. :)

That's pretty awesome. you've rekindled my interest in this game.

How is the performance? Does the converter make the game play as if it was an NTSC game?

Yes. I tried it without the adaptor on my Genny and got a message saying the game was for use with PAL or SECAM Mega Drive or something like that. I tried using it with the Super Mega Key (which was included when purchased) with the switches set to EUROPE and it started up fine as if it was a USA Genny game. I set the switches to USA and the game gave me the same message as without the adaptor.

I see a silvery sticker on the box in the listing's picture, is that on the insert or on the outside when you got your copy?

Awesome. I really liked playing this collection on emulator and I hope I can win one with the adapter as I'd love to have both ;D. Thanks for the heads up.

It's a sticker on the outside of the case.

BTW, for those who bid and want an estimate of payment to arrival time. I paid 4/21 and received (today) 5/2. So around 10 days for me (I live in the U.S.). Previously the seller only listed "Local Pickup/Italy Only" in the auction description but I emailed him and asked if he'd ship it overseas, and he said he would. That's probably why I (and a few others) got it for such a low price. He lists that he'll ship it worldwide now. To note, there's a few up there with BIN right now as well as a couple listed really low without a reserve, like $1. I'm going to watch the non-BIN ones hehe. I looked through the guys feedback and a guy from UK purchased a couple of these already. I think he's going to hoard them and sell them separate for a premium, as I have noticed that U.K. auctions sell higher than other European listed auctions. Probably convienience of same language with North American bidders.

Oh boy do I want one of these!!

Anyone notice that Dr. Wily seems to be giving the peace sign with his hand on the right side of the front of the box art?

Yeah, thats what I figured, about 2 weeks or so. Once again good find.

Ah crap, guess I'd better spring for one of these now the word is out ;)
I was planning on seeing if the non-BIN ones finished below $50 or not first, but better act while I can...

Holy crap! I was just there 20 minutes ago and there were 4 BIN's! I went to the bathroom to fart, then went to the snack machine, then went back to my PC and went to buy one on BIN... and they are all gone!

DAMMIT!

Guess I'll watch one of those on auction.

Crap-o.

Its amazing how fast the word and demand for rarities works on this board.

Yeah it sucks now. There's probably gonna be a much higher price on the 2 that are left. Guess I'll just skip out on it now. Guess that brings back that ol' saying:

"Ya snooze, ya lose."

Shoulda made up my mind quicker.

Mine wasn't a BIN and it went for $31. Keep watching.. :)

Just to let you guys know, he posted about 4 or 6 more over the last day with a BIN at $60. There's only 1 left, plus the 2 without the BIN. I would have posted this earlier, but of course the board was down.

Also, he has a Light Crusader with the Super Mega Key for $30 BIN. I would say the adapter alone is worth at least that much, if not more. So, if you need one to play any PAL or NTSC games with region lockouts, I would pick it up.

That's about 15 sold so far that I've seen, plus The Manimal mentioned another bloke buying a bunch up earlier. Estimate about 20 sold/up for sale so far? I wonder how many more the guy has.. can't be too many, it's not like they're CDs.

Looks like he's just dumping his old copy. Unless your game came in with any damage to the insert as well?

I e-mailed the seller some days ago. He said he had 15 copies of the game.

Good thinking :) Mine looked new in all regards, well, without "shrink" over the case. I don't even remember or know if these games were shrinkwrapped (they probably were), so for me it was more like "like new" rather that "new" I guess.

MD games in europe and japan doesn't have shrinkwrapping on them only stickers or nothing on the side of the case ... it's a good buy !!! I sold one of mine back in 1998 for $275 private sales locally !!

Anyone else score one? Did you get yours yet? I just paid for mine, so hopefully I'll get mine in the next 10-14 days.

I'll finally be able to play my other region locked out Mega Drive Games (Xenon 2 and Mega Swiv), and I now have a reason to finally pick up Golden Axe III. :D

I got mine in nine days in a package wrapped with a mile of packing tape.

Guy has three more listed for BIN as of this post, looks like he was fibbing with the 15 pieces total. Prices have been raised, again.

Was your address written really huge over the whole envelope? :)

Good to see this thread is still 'up'. I was curious to see whether others got theirs yet. So far I have completed Mega Man 3 (the easiest of the 3, IMO), I'm at Wily's Castle in Mega Man 2 (need to finish that), then after that I will try at Mega Man (1). I know I'll get stuck at that, like I did with the original. I gotta win it though, because I want to play the bonus levels.

I got mine a few days ago as well. It has the seal stickers on the case opening. The key cart is new in the box as well. I see he has bumped the price up as well.

I tore through the bonus levels like they were nothing, the fact you can choose from any weapon and item in the previous three games makes it really easy. Rush Jet and Metal Blade, plus all the weapons that destroyed barriers like Hard Knuckle and Crash Bomb.

Still, a neat little novelty and everytime I glance at my rows of black and red genny boxes that single blue spine makes me tingly inside.

Thanks for the heads up Manimal.

Yes. I tried it without the adaptor on my Genny and got a message saying the game was for use with PAL or SECAM Mega Drive or something like that. Okay, I got mine today and get the Super Mega-Key to work. Does this not work on the Model 2 Genesis or 32X? I tried all the settings and keep getting the same message. I also tried it with 2 other Euro games, Xenon 2 or Mega Swiv and they don't work either. Hope i didn't get a bad adapter. anyone else have any problems?

EDIT: I hooked up a spare Model 1 and it works fine. I'm thinking it must be the 32X, but I don't feel like taking mine apart to find out. Anyone try the game on a Model 2 w/o the 32X attachment?

No probs with the Mega Key on my Genny 2. I suspect the 32X is causing problems.
