Thinking about getting this game.... I played Darkstalkers on the PSP and it was kinda fun. Can anyone give me any feedback about the game? Thanks in advance!

Either get the cps2 or just play the rom.

It's good stuff.

You could also get Darkstalkers (PlayStation), Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge (Saturn), or Darkstalkers 3 (Playstation).

Darkstalkers 3 is the U.S. PlayStation port of Vampire Savior, which is (as you can probably tell) the third game in the series.

Oh, and I like Vampire Savior. While I always thought that all of that "Hadoken!" stuff in Street Fighter was silly (oh look at the blond guy tossing flaming flaming fireballs), it doesn't bother me a bit in the Darkstalkers' universe. And since it keeps the core Capcom 2D fighter mechanics, it's a solid game.

I know it's a petty reason not to enjoy Street Fighter, but I never claimed not to be petty.

Don't forget about the DC (Vampire Chronicle) version that lets you play with the move sets from the entire series. It's an import only, but definitely worth looking into if that's an option.

C'mon Capcom, where's the next one in the series?

It's an arcade board that Capcom used for Street Fighter 2 all the way up till SF Alpha 3 or so. As for the best Darkstalker's game. Well, all the saturn games are pretty good, especially Vampire Savior because it used the 4 ram cart, though they're all decent games really.

Hmm...nobody's said it so I will: Handheld Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers sounds great to me. If eBay is any guide, the Saturn ports shouldn't cost you too much (I see a BIN for $13), but you're trading off the portability. On the other hand, a good console-based version with a decent Saturn joypad/stick probably whips the PSP port in terms of control and detail.

As Butta says, the ROMz or CPS/2 versions are going to be the best versions money (or...bandwidth) can buy.
