View Full Version : Where to get games ON release date?

So, Forza Mortorsport was released today but all of the stores are saying that it wont be in till tomorrow. Does anybody know a chain that gets games in on the release date rather than the day after?
This is extrodinarily frustrating!!!! :angry:

PS: I dont usualy get games the day they come out, so I'm not too farmilliar with this.

Well, since today is the ship date, even with overnight courier, it's going to take until tomorrow. The rare exception is when a game is going to be SO huge that the game store actually sends a guy out in his van to pick up their order directly from the distributor. I can't think of any specific titles where this has been done, though.
On a related note, you better be playing Forza on Live tomorrow. ;-)

xbox.com says that today is the "street date." WTF is up with that!?
And, no, I wont be there. I always beat a game before I compete in it. That way I'm decent at it.
I'll see ya in about 2 months tho, probably. :D

Halo 2....everywhere had it the day before...nov 8th to be able to sell it at 12:01am nov 9th
the psp was at stores early to be available on release day
lots of things are....but they have to be expected to be huge sellers.....sure, forza looks amazing and i will buy it sometime this summer, but it just isnt a AAA title

When I was preordering games from Gamestop I would typically get them the night before. I had Kingdom Hearts and GTA: VC the night before the street date. I don't know if they stopped doing this as I haven't preordered anything in a while, but with big titles it has happened to me in the past.
