View Full Version : Yoshi Touch and Go DS - Tips/Secrets?
I totally suck at this game, and can't get above 4000m on the marathon...
I've heard of people getting over 160 on the falling Mario stage, but I don't know how that is achieved.
Also, there is a Yoshi with unlimited eggs, how do you get him?
I've really taken a liking to this game, owning it since launch.
Its very simple to learn, yet very addictive to get the higher score.
Anyone else into this title?

Oh yeah, I love it! It's like Gumshoe for the NES, except you use the stylus instead of the Zapper. It's kind of a rare idea for a game; I've never seen too many games like this.
A big tip for getting further is to remember that you can make the bubbles, and trap just about anything in them. And if you can somehow get multiple things in one bubble, it becomes worth a lot more.
If you're having trouble, watch the demo. Learning how to draw proper borders in the baby mario stage is tough, but they give you some pointers.

Just wait for Touch! Kirby to come out, and everyone to put down Yoshi. I know, I'm being vicious, but it's true. I should've not bought them so close together. :(

Yeah make sure that you catch more than one item in your bubbles. There are PLENTY of spots where enemies fly over already existed coins, and each other for that matter. Just throw that bubble at (yoshi/baby mario) and your points will rack way the hell up there.
Also, in the yoshi stages make sure that you 'chain' your egg throws - trying to hit mutiple targets (coins, enemies) with on single shot, there are plenty of areas where targets are setup perfectly for this. You really need to practice your angles in order to get some of them.
I think that the 'better' yoshi's are obtained by getting super high scores in the mario-only part of the levels - your yoshi 'color' is determined by the outcome of the baby-mario section.

the key is to play over and over and find more and more possible chains. eventualy you will find chains that you had not discovered before. try trapping an enemy or two in a bubble, dragging it in front of a line of coins, and shoot for a nice combo. For the falling levels be sure to make bubbles CONSTANTLY, it takes alot of practice to be able to keep up with drawing lines, but if you keep circling the enemies the extra points sure do add up! and do not be affraid to use your eggs alot, there is often plenty of food to stock you back up.
I mainly play the score attack level.

Try scoring zero points on the Mario stage.
