On the back cover of the current issue of NP they show a picture of Mario slightly unveiling the new look of the magazine that will begin with the next issue. It looks pretty cool if you ask me.. Just thought someone might care ;)

Already discussed here:

But yeah, it does look pretty cool. :D

This scares me. LOL

Being a long time off-and-on NP reader, the thing that annoys me is that regardless of what the magazine looks like, the content seems to shift focus from "serious gamer" to "juvenile kids magazine" and back again.

What I'd like to know is this......where the hell are monthly Cube demo discs and why don't they offer them? If they included discs, I'd be more likely to buy the magazine every month and therefore buy more Cube games.

From what I've read and heard, NP would love nothing more than to include demo discs in every issue... but for some reason, Nintendo of Japan refuses to let them do so.

Damn NCL. Give us all of the cool Club Nintendo stuff or demo discs, or better yet, both.

Would DS demos be good? (kinda like Metroid Prime: Hunters, First Hunt?) I think that would be AWESOME, like a preview for AC or Mario Kart????

Cube demos are irrelevant at this point (there are no third-party games and very few first-party games to demo), but I'd love to see DS and/or Revolution demos.

Maybe if we got a petition going to make some changes to NP concerning things like demo discs and cool subscriber only content and extras, who knows, maybe they might hear us and do something about these concerns.
I also love the "retro"section idea!

The last "player poll" (the insert that you can send in to Nintendo Power) for the issue of NP in question asked what people would most like to receive with a NP sub:

-a classic game
-a demo disk
-a free strategy guide
-a coupon worth a few dollars of a game

and maybe one other choice.

Hopefully most people chose either #1 or #2; #1 was my choice.

NCL always has the last word on decisions involving the american market for some reason. Don't you think that NOA would've launched with just the black cube if they could have? *L* I've read some stuff that NOA often has to really argue with NCL over things we take for granted. For instance, remember how much we complained about the NES Classics line costing $20 each? NOA actually had to talk NCL down from charging THIRTY DOLLARS for the American market.
As for no demos, I guess NCL is worried about the cost factor, which could be easily solved by providing two versions of NP... a version with a disc would be five bucks more than the version without.

If that is the case. I will renew my subscription immedately.
