I can finally scratch them off the Revenge List. I wasn't personally screwed by them but they still deserve genital mutilation.

I'm surprised that it took so long for them to go out of business. But better late than never, as they say...

Its cool they're finally out of business, but what about all the people they hosed? From the looks of it, they made off with a LOT of people's money. I wonder where all of that cash went? Fortunately, I wasn't one of the victims, but it would be a shame to see them go out of business, only to pop up under a new name (funded by loot from their previous scam), only to rip off legions more unwitting gamers.

Did the attorney's office prosecute them? :/

I also wonder what the hell they thought they were doing. Maybe they were buying games online cheaply and simply sending those out to fill orders? Maybe they were using funds from current sales to fill their previous orders?

I never bought anything from them because they looked like they sucked.

Im one of the stockholders from Buyrite and i find the comments in this thread rather offensive. We have had some shipping difficulties, but most people complain but never had any business with us.

Next time you complain or lie about our company, I will go and cut your balls off.

by the way this is a joke

I remember the first time I went to their website. I got a little excited by their prices and selection and was getting ready to put some orders in. I mean, they said they had a Turbo Duo in stock a lot cheaper than what you commonly see on Ebay! How could I lose?

So then, I wised up a little and looked them up on reseller ratings, this site, and a few other sources. It didn't take long to get the scoop on them.

Sadly, I am sure thousands didn't do the same and got screwed.

I remember trying to buy a Lunar: Silver Star Story strategy guide (Playstation version) sometime last year. I paid for it, and then I got an email the next morning stating that it was unavailable, and my money would be refunded.. The refund was the good thing, but what I didn't like is that they didn't list the item as "out of stock" or anything like that.

Good grief!!! It's about time that rats next known as Buy Rite Games went out of business. They had to have the worst track record of any company I have ever heard of. If anyone even mentioned buying anything from them, dozens of people would have horror stories about getting ripped off.
It's about damn time!!! :)

Thank you very much for this link! I was about to buy from BuyRite1.com on various ocoasions, but everything that I wanted was out of stock (I always wanted the rare games, LOL), at any point in time. Nothing I wanted was ever available. Well, thank God I never bought anything from them. Sorry for those who did, and thanks for the link! :)

It's great that they went out of business, but it saddens me that hundreds of customer will never get retribution.

Why was no class action lawsuit ever brought against these schmucks?

I'm probably one of the only people willing to admit that they weren't always completely fucking horrible. I remember buying a lot of good Saturn imports from them waaay back in the day.

Sometime post 1999 is when they really started to suck for me. Especially when they wouldn't update what was in stock on their webpage (which would hold up an order forever if an item happened to be out of stock...it was worse when it was something they would probably never order again).

I'm sure we all have our own horror stories...it is just too bad they couldn't take the hint after 5+ years of wide spread complaints.

We need a "pour a beer for my homies" emoticon for these types of threads. ;)

I never had any problems with them, but I'm kind of glad that they're gone after hearing lots of terrible experiences from other customers.

Buyrite loved to take orders for games they did not have and accept the CC payment for the order. So justice is served and so lays the mighty hammer.

Thanks for the original post. Always nice to see a bad (for the most part) company get what they deserve! Now, there are a few other companies I wouldn't mind seeing bite the dust...

And now, a presentation from Kwaj's Poetry Corner. Refreshments and beverages are available for purchase in the lobby.

Buyrite, oh Buyrite, how you've suckered me.
On your beautiful website, there are many games, I see.

Your product inventory I surely do mock,
as many of the games you have are not in stock.

It is that glaring omission you don't display,
as you took my credit card payment anyway.

I sit at home and wait for my order.
But no package from you has crossed my state's borders.

I send you emails that you soundly ignore.
I feel I've been pimped just like a cheap whore.

I call your helpline in hopes of making things right,
but the prick on the phone refers me back to your site.

In one micro-second, just as quick as a flash,
you made off with my diginity as well as my cash.

You didn't just gyp me, you burned hundreds of others,
including young kids as well as their mothers.

But now it is OUR turn to be crude and crass,
since the BBB just put its boot in your ass.

We dance in circles, its a jubilant sight,
while one woman defecates on your gravesite.

We're avenged! It's a blissful delight.
From all of your victims resounds, "God damn you, Buy-Rite!"

As the saying go's what comes around go's around.

Still it sure took a while for....Buywrong to get what was comeing to them X_x

I use to buy from them a lot too during the days of the Saturn.

Untile they rip me off on a copy of Ninja Five-O.

Afther that i never mess with them, agian since they never sent me the game.

So good riddence to bad rubbish i say :fist:
