View Full Version : Resident Evil 4 query [Contains early spoilers]

The other night when I played through a little more of RE4, I came across a scripted cut-scene that made me think.

When you get into the house early on, and you go through that big metal door and that huge freak picks you up and sees the blood in your eyes and says Leon is one of them etc. Well, he walks through the door you came through. Now, I was prepared to walk on but I actually decided to go back into that room and yes, there he was, waiting to kill me. At that point, a girl in red comes to your rescue and the ugly guy jumps outta the window.

Right. Point is. If I hadn't have gone back into the room, would a similiar cut scene have taken place? Or would I have HAD to have gone back in that room to proceed with the game? Or is it a little treat for those who were curious enough to backtrack?

In your replies, please do not contain spoilers from much further ahead. I'm only about 10 minutes past the graveyard. Thanks.

I'm not totally sure, but from checking out some of the walkthrus at GameFAQs it seems like it is just a bonus scene.

Okay, cool. I didn't want to look at any walkthroughs to check. But that's cool. It was quite enjoyable!

I remember that I went back into the room to see if he was in there, I have no clue who that chick is though :/

It is interesting that he tries to kill you before deciding against it but then seems to wait in the next room and WOULD kill you this time if it wasn't for the woman in red. Odd. He's got the memory of a goldfish I presume.

Haven't beaten the game yet? If you have you need to pay more attention LOL

No, he said he was still in the graveyard ;)

And yes, the scene is question only happens if you backtrack. Don't recognise the lady in red? She recognises you. You'll soon figure it out if you've played the other RE games...

Well, if it wasn't so early on in the game, I would be telling you it isn't worth it. But it is kinda cool. So I'm telling you it is worth it :)

I also went back into the room to see if I could follow him. I was surprised to see that cutscene. I instantly recognized her, though. It's not like Leon has met many people in past games that we've seen. Also, I don't think I'm spoiling anything past this part because I haven't played past the graveyard, but it's interesting that right before this cutscene you read a file that implies you were let live to draw out a third party. If this character is that third party then mission accomplished, it should be open season on Leon now.

Let me say that open season has begun. Just got onto chapter 3. I'm worn out! Great game!
