I'll buy one

In that case you might also be interested in a bridge I've got for sale.

Pretty bad photophop job considering how out or proportion the pic is, but that would be a neat console!

Damn... that would be nice, though I have found that my hands are not suited to the Gameboy SP... it's too narrow and small and my hands get cramped.

Otherwise, this is an idea with some merit... it would keep the Cube alive longer, but at what cost?

Would developers support it, or would they ignore it like they did the Nomad?

Interesting, but I think it would ultimately be doomed to failure.

I'd buy one, though, especially if it were a bit bigger and fit my hands.

:D

I was kinda impressed by it. Look at the reflection of the screen on the black finish....

I think it would be awesome - even if it's released after most of the gamecube games stop coming - I have PLENTY of cube games that I want to play through.

As INCREDIBLY cool as this would be, it really is just too small of a screen. playing Wind Waker on that looks cool in a picture, but really, you can't play a game like that, which was really made for a big screen - on a handheld.

I'd imagine that you'd run into all of the same problems that happened when I would play a game like Dungeon Explorer (HuCard) on a Turbo Express as oposed to on the regular ol' TG-16. Lot's of the text was just unreadable. And that was a simple 2-D game!

In the end, I don't think that I would buy this - even though it is neato-skeeto.

Good call - I'm equally, if not MORE impressed with the way that this sucker looks when it's closed!

Great a GC Laptop. That d pad is completely unreachable by probably half the population. VERY cool fake though.

Of course, it would probably bury Nintendo if they did this....it would greatly confuse the consumer w/ three portables on the market.

EDIT: OK, now that I see the unit in proportion to the disc, I guess that D is useable. Anyway, how the fuck can you play 2-4 player games?!

by buying a bunch of GCA Link Cables, 4 Portables, and 4 copies of the game

obviously better for business....more games, systems, and cables will sell

That's pretty cool... even as a concept. I mean, as soon as I first saw the GC disc when the cube came out I thought there might be a portable GC one day.

If they had brought something like this out instead of the DS, it would've blown the PSP out of the water, me thinks.

Looks like it came from a parallel universe where they don't need cooling fans or batteries for devices that draw over an amp.

hmm but why would nintendo make a GC portable after game development for the GC had stopped? i mean dont they expect to lose money on hardware and make profit on software? at least thats my understanding of the business model. if they could keep GC game dev. alive while supporting the next gen nintendo console that would be quite a feat. besides wouldnt this break the rule of all GBs being backward compatible? hehe maybe you could play the carts thru the mem card slot?

You are forgetting one thing. Nintendo can't get the average gamer (who are the people drooling over the PSP) interested in the GC's library as it stands now. Why would a portable version suddnely make people want to play games they could't have cared less about when they weren't portable? It didn't work for the Turbo Express, why would a portable GC be any different?

A mockup/fake? sure... friggin sweet? yes. with the size of gamecube discs, they COULD getaway with doing that, too bad they won't.

Now that was a funny picture. I agree with most here that it has to be fake. I just can't picture a real handheld GameCube (except one in a photoshop picture).... but... ;)

People said that about Super NES games... now look at where we've gotten to, Super Mario 64, Tiger Woods Golf, NBA Street, Ridge Racers and more have all been brought to a handheld in perfection.
