I know this is a bizzare question to ask, but, what the hell.

Does anyone know of a website or resourse where one can find who currently owns rights to old video games from like the the atari or even nes years? Specifically, I'm trying to find who owns the nes title "a boy and his blob."

Thanks!

Uh...maybe David Crane? He's the one who created it, right?

I would HOPE he still had the rights to it. (one of my all time favorite NES games) Did he also design the GameBoy sequel?

Odds are either David Crane or the publisher of the games still owns the rights. If the company has dissolved, then the rights would have been sold off as part of the company's assets, I believe. If you're -really- serious about this, you might want to talk to a lawyer or at least someone with licencing experience to find out where to go.

The game was published by Absolute Entertainment, which was David Crane's company at the time if I'm not mistaken - I'd say the rights be his.

(how else could you get your name before a game title as creator in the NES era?)

Hmm, alright, thanks for the help.

Maybe I'll need to trap him in a closet at the expo...

The rights were licensed to Majesco a while back and a GBA game was in the early stages but never got anywhere. There was talk of a possible DS game a few months back. I'll have to check with my Majesco source to see if there's been any further news.

Try asking about it at Skyworks. I believe he still works there with Gary Kitchen. Here's a link.
