Freaking bueno. I HIGHLY suggest buying it. It is a little difficult it you're not into the SHUMP genre, but it is a freaking excellent game. I'm very happy it made a US release on the 'cube.

I don't know, do you want it? I'd say go for it because it's a qulity and challenging shooter, but if you're not into shmups Ikaruga not going to change your mind.

as most have said the decision should be based on both your interest and cost. it is an excellent game, but not universally loved.

It also depends on how much it costs. You should be able to find it for less than $20 if you look around a bit, so I wouldn't spend much more than that.

Ikaruga is one of the best shmups of all time, imo. If you like shmups, go back and get it!

Agreed. It's a great game, and if you like the shooty-shooty, you shouldn't hesitate. I also suspect it'll become one of those sought-after Gamecube titles later on, not so much because of rarity, but pedigree and reputation.

I find it to be pretty rare actually. Out of the 10ish video game stores around me only one had a copy and I bought it.

If it's around $20 and you like shmups theyn definately get it. I'd also say get it even if shooters aren't your favorite genre, because it is an excellently crafted game and might just change your mind. I'd only say don't get it of you hate shmups.
And don't worry about the difficulty, just log 7 hours of play and the game grants you unlimited continues :)

Kaa, don't say that. Continues are for the week!! You have to take that game like a man and learn how to beat it in as least Continues as possible. Otherwise you'd be better off renting it and beating it over a weekend.

I though I reviewed it myself in a post, but I can't find it. Long story short, get it, though as a serious shmup fan I'm in the minority of people who find it over-rated.
