What type of gamer are you: Are you satisfied after seeing the endsequence or do you want to clear up everything before you consider a game as finished? Collecting all the stars, beating all the extra dungeons, having every weapong, unlocked all the characters...

I'm a bit a minimalistic gamer, when I've seen the final screen of the game I'm proud to refere to the game as beaten. I am keen to unlock as many secrets in RPGs (at least when it's a game I really like) but I can live with the fact that I didn't find or do everything possbile. What about you?

I consider a game finished once I complete it, either on easy or normal, I am not a hard core gamer so I don't need, want or have time for higher difficulty setting. OF course if the highest settings results in additional levels, characters or cinemas then I might be interested enough in seeing that but only by using a savefile or code or cheat, I am not interested in playing through again unless it's really significant I would rather start a new game......................... :D

I guess I figure I've completed the game when I see the ending. But if I really like the game I sometimes want to fully complete it, ie. get all the extra bits and do the things you don't have to do or maybe push up the difficulty etc.

A game is "finished" for me when I grow weary of the game. It may be only 20 minutes into the game. I'm "finished" with Campaign mode in Halo 2, even tho' I'm only 1/2 through it.

Once I get the credits, I'll consider it beaten/finished. If a game is fun enough, I'll go through the extras, but for the most part I have too many games I haven't even touched to devote hours to a game I've already bested.

When I see the ending and have everything unlocked, it's finished.

It depends entirely on the game. For the most part I'll consider a game beaten when I see the ending sequence, but if it's a game that I really enjoy I will spend countless hours on top of that going through the game multiple times to try and do everything.

After the ending I usually breate a sigh of relief that its finally over. I usually will go back and do any additional stuff that I didn't do before the finale also, or sometimes I try different tricks with fighting the end boss(es) too.

I consider a game finished when I have seen the ending, or the only way to see any aditional endings require a second or third play thru. With the time it takes to finish most RPGs, its just to much time required to see a special 5 minute ending.

Like Kingdom Hearts. All the extra stuff you had to do in that game to unlock the special KH2 trailer was insane. I had a buddy who did that, and he logged 120 hours by the end of the game. I'll admit, the preview trailer was cool, but not nearly that cool...

I tend not to play games after I'm weary of it. I started collecting statues in Zelda: Wind Waker, then stopped...haven't picked the game up again. There's no sense playing a game if it's no longer interesting.

I am a 100% kind of guy. I may have "beaten" the game, but it's not "finished" until I go get all items, etc.

I consider a game finished when I keep getting killed in World 8-4 and I rip the cart out of the console in frustration, throw it at the wall, and stomp up and down on the shards.

Sorry, I'm pretty angry today. :P

I buy a lot of games that technically aren't finishable....like racers and crawlers. You can play them until you're sick of them.

In a platformer I like to shoot for all of the collectibles. I know that the general concensus on DP is that people hate collecting things in games.....but I love it, having started on the N64, which had a LOT of those "collecting" games. I also love spending hours on random battles in RPGs, maybe that explains it. LOL

Other than that, call it done when I see the end credits, shelve it for a bit, then do it all over again.
