I bought a PAL copy of Rakugakids long ago. To play it, I have gone out of my way to buy a PAL N64 and even a PAL -> NTSC converter. However, because the video cables that came with the PAL N64 were RF (which is something I do not have available), I substituted them with an NTSC signal cable. So what's going on here is that an NTSC video cable is being fed through a PAL -> NTSC converter, meaning NTSC is being converted to NTSC (I think). I turned on the N64 and the screen was rolling. There was color, and the audio worked fine, but the screen kept on rolling and rolling and rolling...I am wondering if this is the fault of the NTSC video signal being fed through the PAL -> NTSC converter, or if it's my TV that cannot take the signal? Or possibly the converter is bad? Please, I need feedback.

You may need a device that accepts 50Hz signal. But I would have thought that was the point of the convertor... to change the signal into 60Hz.

I thought so too, but maybe I should get PAL A/V cables to go into the converter...maybe that would solve the problem?

i had to get a big expensive adaptor to feed more power into my PAL system/tv because my electrical outlet socket was weak (mommy wouldn't let me run a cord from the bathroom across the hall under the carpet) i think it was $30. i'll look up the name in a minute, as my german neighbor is using it to try and repair his german xbox at a store.

Bump and additional question:

If I play a PAL game on my modded NTSC PSone/screen combo, will the game display correctly on the PSone screen?

on PS1 it's governed by the title it's running unlike other consoles...

I don't believe so. As I've discovered, the screens sold for the PSone are either NTSC or PAL; they cannot handle both.
