I know it's been discussed before and there are those among you who probably already know this, but for the rest of you, I thought you might find the following nuggets useful.

PROMO 1:

Trade in 3 or more (current-gen) games, get $5 extra per title.

PROMO 2:

Trade in any 2 games and get any new release game for $29.99

The way these work is excellent, especially since the latter promo just takes $20 off the price of the new game and lets you STILL use your credit against the $29.99. I took in 5 games today, only one among them a big-money title (PoP:WW, $25) and ended up with $86 in trade-in credit. Even after buying Jade Empire, Penn & Teller: Bullshit Season 2 (used) and random snacks and a drink I've still got $36 left in credit there, enough to just about pay for any new release I want or to pick up several used games (which are always Buy 1, get 1 50% off). It's not quite as great a ride as the Gamerush Gravy Train from about a year ago, but it's still a ripe opportunity to make the most out of unplayed games you don't want to keep around.

As far as trading in games are concerned, Gamerush is by far the best. Not only do they have those deals going on, and for quite some time now, they tend to give more $ for the older games than say Gamestop or EB.

Are they a national chain? Sounds good, but I've never heard of em.

Gamerush is to Blockbuster Video as Gamecrazy is to Hollywood Video.

I'm unsure as to what exactly qualifies, but it's a safe bet that ps1/n64/etc. are disqualified. I'd call up your local Gamerush and ask, becuase last time some stores took ps1, some didn't. ps2/Xbox/GCN work fine, and I'm assuming psp/ds/gba would work also. But here's a tip if you don't have much to trade in: Go pick up old sports games. They're $1.99 generally and they're buy one get one free. So say you went in and bought 4 sports games (total of $6), you'd turn right around with that and score at least $20 in trade-in credit, which you could buy more sports games with and continue the cycle. It helps if you have more than one Gamerush in your town, last time I rocked their faces we went to no less than 4 to work our magic. You can get creative with these promos and really get some great stuff for little to nothing (other than gas money).

Well they still have the trade-in 3 games, get an extra $5 each game. They also have trade-in 2 games, get a new game or pre-order for $29.99. They no longer have the Buy 2 Used Get 1 Free deal. It's now Buy 1 Used Get @nd Used 50% off.

Took Alter Echo, Rogue Ops and R:Racing Revolution (all for PS2) and got $23 in credit. Picked up Ridge Racer DS $16.99 and Asphalt Urban GT $7.49 (50% off $14.99). Not exactly the best deal, but I got 2 more DS games to play now. I already have too many PS2 games anyways.

Yeah, keep in mind also, for those of you who can't quit buying DVDs like myself that the used DVDs are Buy 2 Get 1 Free, so you can rack up there also. I got the 2nd Season of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! for roughly $16. Make sure you get a good knowledgeable member of their staff to ring you up and take in your trades, as they'll stack promos (like the trade in promos), making your deals sweeter.
