Psone screen will not turn on

I've recently purchased a psone screen and it will not turn on. It does display video if I use a/v cable to connect to the tv with the lcd monitor attached to the psone. I don't have another psone to test it on, but I am using the correct power cable. I do have a chip in my psone so I'm not sure if that is the problem, though I think so as that is in the start up cycle of the machine. Any ideas? O_O
