okay, so we already have robot arms that are controlled by monkeys with brain implants... video games probably aren't too far off. so, would you get a brain implant to control video games? it would have it's advantages and disadvantages.

Edit: woo woo! 500'th post! 8-)

Nah, I don't think it would be worth it just to play games, it would be too expensive and, well...it's my brain! LOL

I'd love to see some new VR stuff though!

I'd have my hair removed, and replaced by drealock-like interface cables if I could. Imagine being able to plug into anythign, be your own headphones/mic/usb device. You're damn right I'd get one, IF I knew it couldn't be used to like, trigger me to do stuff from afar by the government/corporation/guy with garage door opener.

I said probably not but it depends.
Like how far along we were with the technology and if it didn't screw with anything inside me.

Obsolescence. Thirty years ago, lps were the major music format. Twenty years ago, 5" floppies were standard. Ten years ago, videocassettes were still the principle viewing medium in most households.

"I'm sorry, sir. CerebroViolateCo no longer services first generation brain-jacks. We apologize for the no-longer-useful hole in your head." @_@

Some hacker kids would find a buffer overflow in the brain chip and be able to control you wirelessly. Thats less fun on the receiving end. I can see sony putting lethal anti-piracy measures in.

I agree. The doctor's are too scared to even take out my tonsils at this age, I can't imagine risking death to play a cooler video game.

Imagine how ridiculous it would be if you died because of complications from that surgery. What would your gravestone say? @_@

ps- Maybe if there was some sort of gear you wore outside of your head that passed signals through... I would be more inclined to do that.

I voted, probably but it depends.

I mean it would take a lot of testing and stuff until they allow gamecompanies or any other insitute to do this. It has to be save more or less before everyone could get it. And I sure would wait until the price of that implant drops and until they can fix the first errors (kinda like I'll do with the PSP and the PS3). I also think that you could do way more with that chip than just playing games.

The idea of playing games just in your mind sounds promising. On the other hand I'm more into 2D than 3D so maybe I will allready be too old when (if ever of course) stuff like this comes to update to newer technologies.

Good answer.

Of course those were lower-back spinal plugs, and they made it all sexual, so of course everyone would want one of those, heh.
