I told my Game Design teacher that I was a collector, and today he hooked me up w/ a boxed Amiga CD32. He told me he wasnt entirely sure what was IN the box besides the system itself, though...so when I brought it home tonight and opened it up I was met with a few surprises:
- No controllers, cables or games. I can live with this for the time being, as he may know where some other stuff for it is. It did come with an a/c adapter, but it's definitely for something besides the system itself. I'm also uncertain which region the system is from (I've heard these are very scarce in the US, which makes me wonder if it's imported).
- It had a very large 'adapter' attached to it, the purpose which I can not determine. It attached to the back and stayed on via a bottom plate (kinda like a Sega CD 2, but not nearly as glamorous). It appears to be some sort of converter to allow for PC applications (via floppy disks, etc.), but that's really nothing more than a guess. The adapter says "Paravision SX-1" on it.
- It also came with an external 3.5" floppy drive, a 56k modem (w/ phone line) and about 2 dozen random floppy disks for what appear to be primitive programming and graphic design software. All of these appear to be in some way attachable to the aforementioned adapter.
I know next to nothing about this thing, and I'm definitely curious as to what I just got my hands on. Can anyone help me out with identifying any of this stuff?
