Wish no more thanks to batari from Atariage.

batari has fully implemented the 3rd floor of the arcade game into the Atari 2600 version. You get 4 more rooms of enemies and treasures. This is a work in progress so expect to see more in the future.
If you have any ideas just pass them along here and you might see them in a future update.

Well, I guess you're not making any more black background hacks anymore? :/

Thanks for the news! It looks great and I'll be downloading it to use with my Cuttle Cart. I'm a big fan of the hacks that really alter and significantly add to the gameplay of an existing game, such as the excellent Bottomless Pitfall, and most especially the superb Hack 'Em, which blew me away. I've played Hack 'Em incessantly and it's everything the VCS Pac-Man could and should have been back in the day. Keep 'em coming!
One thing I'd love to see is to see someone tackle the challenge (unfortunately, that someone can't be me) of hacking the unfinished prototypes and bringing them to completion, such as Squoosh, Pompeii, Sky Patrol, Dune, and others. I think it would be a worthy project on which to focus. I haven't seen anyone do something like this yet; has it been discussed?

I didn't know you had a Cuttle Cart Kevin. The original one or the 7800 version (I have the latter and *love* it).
Anyway, (more than) slightly off topic, check out some of the Adventure hacks they have over at AA. Not the straight graphic ones, but the ones with new mazes and layouts and whathaveyou. They're really good.
(Even more off topic: I stumbled into the maze below the Yellow Castle in one of these hacks, and because it wasn't fogged out it took me like 6 trips through it before I realized it was the same maze! It's kinda cool to see it all at once)

That is up to batari. Hopefully there will be some info soon.

There are a lot of great Adventure hacks. Keep an eye out because there are several more in the pipeline. ;)

Just putting them to the side for a little while. There will be more. :D

Uhhh, I have to profess to total ignorance on who the authors are/have been. Have you done any? If so, which one(s)?

Right now I only have the Adventure Black that is released. I have been working on an 8k hack of Adventure for a few months. It is completely re-done with an all new theme. I'll have more info posted soon. :hmm:

The original. I'm just not a huge fan of the 7800 (although I'm only about 10 games or so away from a complete collection and really must resume my efforts to finish it) and so couldn't justify spending $200 for a 7800 Cuttle Cart 2, as cool as it is, especially after spending $100 (which was very well-spent) a couple years earlier on the first Cuttle Cart. I am very content with it and love it to death. I've got 13 CDs filled with games; about 2.5 of those are just hacks (every one of them!). I even like some of the goofy ones, like RooBall; I can't resist playing basketball with Kangaroos! Then you have the really cool ones like Berzerk Voice Enhanced and Ace (I love being able to use my driving controllers for other games!). And as I stated earlier, I would love it if someone picked up the baton for some of those incomplete prototypes and finished them off, especially the Apollo ones, or Sweat (by Starpath). It would be great to see today's homebrew auteurs' interpretations of what the finished products might have looked like (like the rest of the Beatles filling in and finishing John Lennon's demo of Real Love).

Coolio. I don't think I grabbed Adventure Black, I'll have to check it out.

I'm not a fan of the 7800 either, but since I arrived on the scene *way* too late to acquire the original CC, and I had the system lying about being generally unused, spending the $200, although painful, was pretty much my only option. I figure I get over the pain of the cost eventually, but the use of the cart will last a lifetime :)
(I could've tried an eBay auction I suppose, but I loathe eBay and use it only to buy stuff that nobody else will bid on).
13 CDs?!? Wow. How many games is that? I've got about 500ish on my CC2, but barely any hacks/homebrews (maybe about 20 total).
My favourite non-Adventure hack is probably Mr. Roboto. Berzerk is one of the few games for which I enjoy the home versions as much or more than the arcade (via Mame), and there's something cool about (a) that song and (b) it being on an Atari cart :)
