In light of the ongoing "scandle" in the Michael Jackson world, I'm curious to hear from my fellow DP'er on how they would feel about the following:
Much like the Moonwalker Games released decades ago for MasterSystem, Genesis and other platforms, with the notoriety Michael Jackson has now, if another Michael Jackson game came out, would you consider buying it?
Also, for you classic gamers, would you avoid adding a MJ title to your collection in protest? Would you add it in support of?
(I'm not saying he is guilty or not, but one has to wonder about him....)
Just curious, I was reading an article about him and a customer had just asked if I had Moonwalker in stock which made me think of it and begin to wonder....

If they released a Michael Jackson game on the current consoles, no matter what kind it was, I'd be first in line to pre order it and pay full price for it.
Actually, if they released a new Michael Jackson game on the Xbox 360, I'd buy an Xbox 360 for it, and I have no interest in the Xbox 360 whatsoever.

Any michael Jackson game released today would surely be banned by the Australian Ratings board (OFLC). They have very strict guidelines for sex in games.
That said, it would certainly be a niche product...

I like the Moonwalker games, i do not compare them to what he is accused of, so why not if it is cheap i will buy it.

I own a complete copy of Moonwalker for Genisis. I also have not been following the trial mainly because i don't really give a damn. But if he does end up being guilty what happens to all of us who have the game where the object is to touch children to liberate them from capture. I am hoping that maybe the rating will go up, or at least the price.

If the game is good I sure would buy it. No matter if he did molest children or not. But I doubt they will make a game with him ever if the judge decides he is guilty.
I've never played any of the old MJ games. I sure wouldn't mind geting my hands on the Moonwalker game for the Mega Drive.

It won't, the game just won't magically dissappear if he's found guilty. It's just that whole flea market profiteerer syndrome. We seen it with Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Kobe Bryant for N64 and some other I can't remember.

I still wish the old arcade game was ported. I remember how much fun it was. The genesis game is still awesome though.
Yet if there was like a new Micheal Jackson game out, I'd think it'll sell well. Ever since Jackson has been on trial, his records have been selling better ironically.

I would only buy the game if it was cheap and good. In my opinion, the guy is guilty and shouldn't be supporting him at all.

If a new Michael Jackson game was released, I wouldn't buy it, since I probably wouldn't have any interest in it anyways. I would have given the same answer had this trial never occured.
I would like to get Moonwalker on the Genesis though, for nostalgic reasons - my brother owned it back in the day and I'd like to get most of the games he used to own.

This is all a Moo point, due to the fact that they will never relaease another MJ game. It was a cool game at the time, a game based on a pop culture icon, but he just doesn't have that level of fame now. All anyone brings up now when the mention Mike is the ongoing trials. I cannot imagine a game developer even persuing MJ for the rights to produce such a game.

I would buy one of the old ones if i needed it to complete a library. I wouldn't buy a new game. Then again I don't really buy new games anyways.

I of course will buy the MD, SMS and GG version one day, but not a game I'm really looking to get. In fact it's more I hated that pedohile as my brother listened to it.
Anyay the gam ewasn't tha bad if I remember well, for me it's a bit like Star Wars Aracde, also a game with a license from something I hate ,but which I also like till some degree.
And if he's guilty or not, I don't know. I only know he's mental sick anyway.

Same here. The 3 player cabinet was a good thing for me and my entourage of gaming junkies back in the day.
As far as buying a new MJ game, I rarely buy new games today. So, um.... no.

I personally would not buy a newly released Michael Jackson game because he would more likely than not be compensated for the game and I would not want to support someone who I believe has treated young boys the way that he has. I personally think that he is guilty. Even if found not guilty I find it disgusting that he would sleep with these young boys all of the time and think that it is perfectly fine.

I'm not gonna search for it or anything, but if I ever see it then I will pick it up.

Well since I'm trying to get a complete SMS collection I'm gonna have to get Moonwalker eventually, and I'll play it to :)
If a new MJ game came out today and it was good I'd buy it, but not for $50.

If the game is anything like Moonwalker in terms of gameplay and fun, most definately.

I'm with the "don't really care," crowd. Although if he was found guilty (and I actually believed it) and a new game came out then I wouldn't buy it. I'd just get like a bootleg or something instead.
I didn't pay much attention to trial, but I assumed he was guilty until I looked into it a little more.
The kid's parents already had a lawsuit against a security guard at a department store for molestaing their kid - the store settled for an unknown about of cash (if your kid had been molested already, why would leave them alone at a house with someone who had already settled a molestation lawsuit).
A body guard and maid said they saw Michael touching kids, but Michael Jackson actually sued them awhile ago (stealing or fraud or something) and they owe him over a million dollars (so they are a bit ticked).
And the kid picked out a adult magazine that Michael evidently showed them, except the magazine wasn't even published when the kid was there (magazine was like a winter issue and the kid was there in the summer).
Plus, after that credible reporter was caught lying, it seems that you really can't believe much of you hear. I read that his records were also selling better and the trial was helping his career, something like sales were up over 500%. So I looked into it and his Thriller album sold like 1,100 copies in 1 month this year, where as last year it sold only 97. 1,000 copies more and the whole article was on how the trial was helping his career out and he was selling more records. 1,000 copies in a month, he's lucky if gets $2 a record (that's very high for the industry, but I'm guessing since he's MJ). - whoa slow down a whole $2,000, talk about a huge bonus for his checking account.

That's how you can really tell there's a generation gap forming. Half of the people here see him as a weird, child-molesting creepy guy. The other half of us dressed, danced and sang like him in grade school.
Hoooooooooooooooooooooo!

I never bought a MJ game, in part because I have never owned a system which had such a game, but largely because, except for One-On-One Basketball, I've never bought any movie or "celebrity" game. So, in my search for GBC games, those such as Antz, and such, are out.
But if I did, would I? I don't know. The problem is that he is either completely innocent, or guilty as all hell. I don't want anything involving a child molester, but man, you'd better be DAMN SURE he's guilty, since even murder isn't frowned upon the way this is.
And quite frankly, I haven't seen anything yet to convince me beyond a reasonable doubt. I wouldn't convict Ted Nugent of jaywalking with what I've seen in this case so far.
In any case, shouldn't the parents also be up on charges?

Would i buy an MJ game? No. I tried "Moonwalker" and that was more than enough to keep me away.
I have however thought about buying his hits album on and off over the course of the past year (has nothing to do with his trial).
He might be alot of things (weird being the biggest) but when he was black he was king, and his 80's music is still awesome.

I'd probably pick it up if it was a good game. Michael Jackson was a huge part of my youth and I remember watching all the videos my parents had when I was little and the legendary thriller album. I've noticed a lot of places are charging INSANE amounts for freaking moonwalker on genesis. I've seen a horrible label ripped copy at bookman's for 20 loose. Kinda glad I have a nice minty copy for sms and genesis before the whole scandal deal.

I'm embarassed to say that I had a couple pins of MJ phtos that I wore on my jeans jacket back in 83 or 84. An older kid once tried to take the jacket from me, but first he took the pins off and gave them back to me.
The trial would actually make me more likely to buy a new MJ game. I gone ahead and declared him guilty already, but something in such poor taste would be hard for me pass up.

I don't care about the scandal, so I'd be thrilled if the Moonwalker arcade game was finally ported to a home system.

i really want to get both the games michael jackson is in on the dreamcast (one of the ready2rumbles, i think only the sequal, and one of the space channel 5s, i tihnk only the sequal, i recently picked up the first one but dont have my dreamcast here so haven't played it)
its also great how the aim of Moonwalker is to rescue the children. I remember playing it years ago on my friends megadrive. I was actually thinking about getting some more megadrive games this summer and i would definitely pick up Moonwalker if i see it.
I'm not very much interested in the trial, he's been in one before so its kind of like repetition. If only he stopped looking so odd and started making some good music again. History was a class album but Invincible, no thanks.
