Does anyone have a list of all the unlicensed games/companies on Sega Genesis? I know that Accolade and EA began as unlicensed companies but then got licenses, not sure what is licensed/unlicensed by them though. I am curious to know the entire list of games on the US NTSC Sega Genesis that are unlicensed... So far, I can only say I know the 3 for Wisdom Tree.

Thanks! And if anyone wants, feel free to post the unlicensed games for SNES (I assume there is only a few)

So that video store carried almost every Genesis game ever? God, I would have loved that place as a kid.

You are referring to my thread about my game finds.. technically, this thread was posted twice acidentally and that is why your message is appearing here.. but see the other thread since this one I changed the topic as to not repeate the same thread twice...

But, yes, they did, actually, they carried almost every game for every old system (SEGA GENESIS/SNES/NES/N64/SATURN/PSX1/PS2/GAMECUBE/XBOX).. it was one of the best places..

Off the top of my head:

Accolade: Hardball, Star Control, Double Dragon

EA: John Madden Football, Budokan, Sword of Sodan, Dark Castle

There were a few more EA ones I think.

Only one unlicensed game for SNES... Super Noah's Ark

Wisdom Tree did that one.

Action 52 was unlicensed. Should have been unmade.

I'm pretty sure Gleylancer and Divine Sealing were unlicensed. Tengen did unlicensed games on the NES, so it's possible Slap Fight and Snow Brothers were unlicensed on the Genesis as well.
Damn, I just realized you asked for US NTSC! Nevermind!

The Accolade/Ballistic unlicensed games are all the ones in the cardboard boxes:

Double Dragon
Hardball III
Hardball!
Ishido: The Way of Stones
Mike Ditka Power Football
Onslaught
Star Control
Summer Challenge
Super Off-Road
Test Drive II: The Duel
Turrican
Universal Soldier
WarpSpeed

I'm not sure about the EA ones because they had a license by the time the Mega Drive launched in Europe.

I know that there was an unlicensed Mario game on it. Yes, That mario. I forget the title.. It was not done by nintendo (I think) Since you throw boxes at your enemies.

Here's what Wisdom Tree released for the Genesis:

Exodus: Journey To The Promised Land
Joshua and The Battle Of Jericho
Bible Adventures
Spiritual Warfare

There's also an interesting read about these games on Sega-16:

Wisdom Tree: Developers without a License (http://www.sega-16.com/Feature-%20Wisdom%20Tree.htm)

I think the Realtec games are unlicensed but am not sure. I know they didn't arrive until almost 2000 for the genesis.

Earth Defense
Funny World/Balloon Boy
Whac-a-Critter

Were the Realtec games (Earth Defense, Funny/Balloon boy and Whac-A-Critter) licensed games?

Action 52 was not licensed.

No...god no. Funny World/Balloon Boy I've sight confirmed doesn't have a Sega logo on it (comes in a Funny Package, too).

Hey

Are you referring to the original unlicensed games that will not play on any but the Model 1 first revision Genesis?

There are only a small handful of those EA and Accolade games.
