ANy DPers going to this? I'm running and in charge of it if you anyone wants to watch or compete.

The longest running yearly tournament in the country is now in it's 12th year. Since 1994 and Super Street Fighter II, Nickel City, formerly known as Just Games and Super Just Games has been home to the Midwest Championships with the exception of 2003, where it moved temporarily to Omaha's Family Fun Center.


Tournament games/RULES/SCHEDULES
Overall winner (highest finisher from this specific group of games will win an EXTRA $500. That's right, $500 in CASH ALONG WITH ALL the other goodies we are throwing in to the pot this tourney.

Games that fall under the qualifying, EXTRA CASH $500 BONUS:
Guilty Gear XX# Reload (IN ADDITION, there will be a $200 bonus GIVEN to the overall winner of this game) (Japanese PS2 Console and Arcade)(Juicy G will be running this portion of the tournament)
Capcom vs SNK 2 (Arcade)
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Arcade)(Juicy G will be running this portion of the tournament)
Street Fighter III: Third Strike (Arcade)
Super Street Fighter II Turbo (Arcade)
Tekken 5 (PS2 console and Arcade)(Floe will be running this portion of the tournament)
SVC CHAOS (Arcade, New style layout)
XMEN vs Street Fighter (Arcade)

Games that will be FEATURED at the tournament, but you are NOT required to enter to qualify for the $500:

Capcom Fighting Jam (Ps2 console)
Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Arcade)
Capcom vs. SNK (Arcade)
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (Arcade)

We have no choice but to use both CONSOLE and ARCADE because it is impossible for us to obtain arcade boards for the new games. Rules will be in effect for ALL of the games as posted, along with specific times:
COST=$10 COVER CHARGE for 1st GAME. If you want to play in only one tournament, it will be either $10 or $15 depending on the game's tournament entry fee as listed below. IF YOU WANT TO QUALIFY FOR THE EXTRA $300, YOU MUST ENTER ALL 8 TOURNAMENTS listed above. If you choose to NOT enter a tournament, it is worse than placing last. Placing last will allow you to receive points towards the overall award.

FRIDAY JUNE 24 Schedule
11AM-Capcom Fighting Jam (PS2 Console-$5 ENTRY. 1 MATCH, DOUBLE ELIMINATION
1PM-Capcom VS. SNK (Arcade-$5 ENTRY. 1 MATCH DOUBLE ELIMINATION)
4PM-Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Arcade-$5 ENTRY 2/3 DOUBLE ELIMINATION 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY.
7PM-Super Street Fighter II Turbo/Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (Arcade-$10 ENTRY FOR EACH GAME, 2/3 DOUBLE ELIMINATION 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY.

SATURDAY JUNE 25 SCHEDULE
11AM-Guilty Gear XX#Reload (XBOX Console, possible XBOX in cabinet setup as well) $10 ENTRY, DOUBLE ELIMINATION 2/3, 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY (EXTRA $200 FOR 1st)
7PM-Street Fighter III: Third Strike/XMEN vs STREET FIGHTER $10 ENTRY, DOUBLE ELIMINATION 2/3, 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY. X-MEN vs SF is $5 ENTRY, Double ELIM 2/3, 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY

SUNDAY JUNE 26 SCHEDULE
11AM-Marvel vs Capcom 2 (more than likely will be run by Juicy G and MadBooFace again since I know NOTHING about MVC2) $10 ENTRY, DOUBLE ELIMINATION 2/3, 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY.
4PM-Capcom vs. SNK 2 $10 ENTRY, DOUBLE ELIMINATION 2/3, 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY
8PM-Tekken 5 (PS2 CONSOLE,$10 ENTRY, DOUBLE ELIMINATION 2/3, 3/5 OVERALL FINALS ONLY (extra $200 for first)

I'd love to go if I was anywhere close... or anywhere near good.

I can beat scrubs, but talented fighters? I'd get crushed first round.

still, if you produce vids, I'd watch. I love watching pro fighting gamers go at it. that Ken/Chun Li Evolution vid still gives me chills.
