OK, does anyone else think that some of the rarer boxed games for NES are going for a lot more than they did, say perhaps just a year ago?

Bubble Bobble 2: $228.50 !!!?!?!?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8190170757&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The cart alone sells for only 60-80 !!! So the box/manual are fetching 150-170 dollars !!!??!?!

Flintstones: Surprise At Dinosaur Peak: $305.67 ?!?!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8186662149&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The cart alone was recently going for 50-60 !!! My gosh, the cart is normally a seller at 60, so that is like 250 dollars to own the box and manual.. I'm thinking that this is getting out of hand!

Stack Up (with all pieces): $255.00 !?!?!?!?!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8179384399&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I remember Stack Up going for like $100.00 !!! Now it is regularly going for 200-300+

It's like WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!!? Or maybe I just need to wake up and smell the coffee! @_@

Actually, it seems that rarer games in general have been going up. I sold a disc only Suikoden 2 for $102.50 on Ebay. I really didn't expect to get much more than $50 for it.

That IS a very, very nice looking copy of The Flintstones 2, though...I've been seeing lots of complete games on eBay for very decent prices recently, actually...it's just that top tier of games, the ones we can't seem to stop talking about here, that attract that extra money LOL

Yep, just smell the coffee. LOL For starters those games aren't just boxed, they are all complete, and they are all in really nice condition (esp. the BB2). Really rare games are worth a TON, when they are complete, and in mint condition.

rarer games have been selling for more, especially complete and exceptionally nice copies. bb2 and f2 cart only are still probably worth roughly the same as the dp guide but the box/manual add a lot to the value.

fs2 cart only has been going for 70-80+ lately from what ive seen...

bubble bobble 2 is still in the 60-70 range, sometimes in the 50s

Man did you have to show that FS2……i lost this one!!!!

I know it was a mega high price but i want this game so bad (complete),the games you mentioned are hard to get complete, the carts are much easier to find.

That is why there a big difference in price….

It seems like a LOT of complete games are popping up all of a sudden. Prices are going through the roof too.. I remember looking at chrono triggers (complete) for about $30.. now for one that is in OK condition complete goes for +$60..

Flintstones 2 is a really easy game to beat, but I guess its most aimed for kids.. Really nice game tho :)

Hehehe you watched?
The funny thing is i never ever saw a PAL version of this game i know there were PAL releases, the NTSC version is much more common so this time it's the other way around for once ha.

I collect for almost 2 years now and i know that it's not a long time but i've never seen one on the net,if there has been somebody correct me!

I did a search for it and checked "complete listing only" and checked the bid history. Recogniced your nick :) Too bad you lost :(
I acctualy got my hands Flintstones 2 PAL (SCN) some days ago. I had to pay like $200, but it included a NES + 2 controllers, smb 1,2,3 and nes open (golf game with mario). All are SCN releases. I think it was fair deal, considering F2 was included :)
F2 will be out on ebay again complete, im pretty sure of it. Good luck on getting it next time.

only thing insane here is the amount of hating going on. If a buyer wants to spend $300+ on a game who are ya'll to say thats insane? Is there set value on each of these games that somone must pay? Are you the authority on pricing? Let people spend thier money how thy want...don't hate cause ya'll didnt get enough allowance to bid.

What I can see, it looks just like the NTSC cart.

question aint about being able to complain, it's how pathetic ya'll look doin it. Would you e-mail the bidder and tell them they're insane for paying that much if YOU were the one selling bb2/flinstones2? think not homie. But go head do your thing keep hating.

Yea and it's not nearly as Pathetic to come on to a Forum and call people pathetic and tell them they "don't get enough allowance to bid"

Oh by the way, we speak English here, we're not down with the "hood" talk "homie". LOL

What's with the strange text on the front of that Flintstones game?

Not for use with the Matell or NES versions of the Nintendo Entertainment System?

And the Flintstones have a copyright date of 1933? O_O

You're either :

a) an ebay seller who wishes they could get that much for a game (aka hater)

b) an ebay seller who has sold one/both of those games in the past and didn't get as much (aka hater)

c) one of the buyers who didn't get enough allowance money to bid (aka hater)

which one is it? You obviously got hurt by what I originally said and felt the need to try and justify how cool ya'll look complaining. Not a good look homie. oh wait...I mean dude. Whatever dude. Game on dude! Radical!!!

Game looks to be a PAL version of Flintstones 2 (You can tell by the B on the label which is the same B that appears on PAL version of Stadium Events). Probably quite easier to find in PAL form as the NTSC version was a Blockbuster video exclusive for a limited time.

Hanna Barbara been around since 1933.

As far as the Mattel/Nes thing...thats strange. I know Mattel did the PAL version of Final Fantasy but its odd it says not for use on an NES.

Wrong, the PAL version of Flintstones 2 is much harder to find than then NTSC version. You can also see its PAL by looking at the region code, NES-FT-SCN.

SCN is short for scandinavia. All games that was released in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland had NES-XX-SCN games :)

I've seen way more PAL of versions of that game than I have the NTSC...and the PAL carts I've seen have sold for much less. What was the availablity like outside the US?

Oh? I never seen the PAL for sale (except this tho, which I bought :)), but I've seen a NTSC on Ebay like 4-5 times.
Where have you seen the PAL for sale?

that was my bubble bobble 2 auction. i almost thought it was going to sell for even more than that, but i am definitely very very happy with what i got. 230 dollars for something i had that was just collecting dust on a shelf is a great deal!

well, it may not be the rarest game, but i was hoping to get a little bit more than i did for this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8192017815&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:IT), but at least it's technically more than what i paid for it...
