Not long after the Namco - Bandai merger it's time for another one. Tomy and Takara will merge to form Japan's 4th largest toy/game company. You can't help wondering how many of the old companies that will still be left in a coupple of years.

Hope somebody will bring over Choro Q Works BTW.

Yes Takara owns Atlus. And Konami had a 22.2 % stake in Takara but sold all shares when Takara posted a $141.2 million loss for 2004.

I didn't know Tomy was still around, I think I mostly remember them for some their actuon figure-type construction kits when I was a kid.

Takara is a toy GIANT here. Tomy ... honestly, I have no idea what they make. I see ads for Takara stuff all the time, but not Tomy. They probably have lots of sub-brands, but I dunno what they are. Takara themselves isn't known for making very good games, but Atlus sure is. LOL

Did SNK own some piece of Takara a long time ago? Or was it a coincidental business agreement? :/

Anyone know?

I know Tomy did a lot of action figures for Kingdom Hearts, and Disney in general. I believe they also made some mario RC kart racers.

EDIT:
They're still talking about merging. It's not a done deal yet.
