I am wondering what everybody considers to be the game that is the centerpiece of their entire collection. I am pretty new to game collecting so my centerpiece isn't that great. Hopefully that will soon change. Please list only one game.

My Centerpiece: Factory Sealed Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Sega Saturn.

Does it have to be a game? Heres mine. Its a Earthbound Store poster. I know of two that exist, mine and one owned by a guy at www.starmen.net. Mine is the only one I've seen on Ebay in the last 7 years I've been searching for it.

Obviously my laserdisc copy of SUPER MARIO BROTHERS.

Or maybe my "Vintage Goodwill Plunders" collection of vextes (with an R8) and an Odysesyeysee with the gun controller. Otherwise the Sega Cluster is pretty eyecatching, or the giant bead sprite Roll card.

ps: That earthbound poster is infinately awesome.

Mine would be Halloween for the Atari 2600. Mainly because I am a fan of the films.

I don't know.. Maybe my import collection or my SMS girl. I don't really have anything that mind blowing.

Yeah, I'd say a sealed copy of PDS is a pretty good start.

That would be my mountain of Picos. I have like 5 sitting on top of my entertainment center. I always find them for $3 with a game. But will they sell the game seperately? No... You think I'm kidding? Well, actually I am. I do have 5 Picos, but they suck. Noone wants to look at them. My actual centerpiece would be Flintstones: Surprise at Dino Peak. Crappy game but fun to own.

Probably one of my VB games between : Space Squash, INsmouse and Virtual Fishing.

I could probably add my original Mortal Kombat store display (big cardboard, about 5.5"high). BTW if someone is interested I'd be happy to sell/trade it but it is currently stored in Europe.

:) . My proxy for it was 250 dollars. Fortunatley at the time there were two really awesome store posters for sale, this one and a Chrono Trigger one. My max bid on the CT one was 145 but I got beat by a guy, but luckily I only had to pay 60 dollars for this one as the guy wanted the CT one more. Was the only CT one I've ever seen too, sadly. I'd like to own the FF3 one and CT one as well, the I'd be a really happy guy.

How about making a professional copy of that Earthbound poster for us, hehehe?

I'm always impressed by the display units. I've got to get my greedy hands on one someday.

My MAME Machine is my centerpiece for sure.

But, if it HAS to be a game, I suppose Chase the Chuckwagon is my rarest game, even if it's not THAT rare. It's the only game I ever bought for its rarity, and not for fun.

That's why my collection stays small (around 330 games). I will only buy the games I played or the ones I know are supposed to be terrific.

That is so trick. I'm torn between getting a 1 slot 19 incher or making a mini MAME cab (limited gaming space). Until then, I really don't have any centerpieces, per se. If pressed, I'd make it a three way between my Working Designs Sega CDs, Renovation Genesis titles and my PAL Shenmue II. I have just over 200 games, so I don't have a lot to brag about.

I'm hard pressed to think of anything that would be a great item in my colection as almost all of it is easy to obtain, or realy isnt rare. I guess the biggest thing would be my DC arcade sticks. Not a rare item by any means, it just looks great as most people in my area never saw let alone touched one.

I just posted about my new centerpiece yesterday:

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60753

:)

As for a game, I suppose I'd have to go with Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, seeing as it's my single most valuable game (my two rarest games are Raystorm and Herc's Adventures which aren't especially noteworthy). However, I think my tri-Ace game collection as a whole is cooler than Dracula X (and probably more valuable with nearly each game worth at least $40-$50). And when I add in EVERYTHING I have related to tri-Ace, well, then it destroys everything but the aforementioned Koji Hayama prize:

(And this list isn't even my most updated version. O_O )

If I pull it out of my closet, I'd have to say my 5 foot tall Rival Schools standee, featuring Tiffany. I think that was her name. Super busty blonde with boxing gloves.

I'd have to say my giant licensed Legend of Zelda wristwatch wall clock...

http://www.classicplastic.info/pics-zeldaclock08.jpg
(I REALLY need to take some new pics, that GameCube thing on the adjacent wall is the display case sized cardboard GameCube poster that Target stores put in the (empty) GameCube case prior to launch so it wouldn't look empty / hide any early arrivial games that were displayed behind it.)

If anyone here has one of these wristwatch clocks please let me know, I've yet only heard of one other out there.

Wow! That thing is immense. A wristwatch... on a wall!
That is the kind of thing they should have displayed at the Nintendo World Store

as for me, um, well i have a tiny collection (if you could even call it that) but quite a number of Shenmue goodies, so it would have to be either the Shenhua figurine or the Shenmue 1 and 2 white label promos

Not sure I really have one. I have a minty boxed FF3. I personally modded my top-loading NES for A/V output - I'm probably more attached to that than anything. I also have a kiosk model Dreamcast. All 4 of the Working Designs deluxe boxes. I dunno.

It seems Slate of the DP forums has one of these clocks as well - that makes a grand total of three (including mine) that I've come across. Due to one of the biggest spelling errors in history / some really good luck it cost more to ship the clock then it did to buy it. LOL
