Nintendo World Store has the AVS!!(NES prototype system)

But check these out, its what the NES was suppose to look like, however when Nintendo revealed it at the consumer electronics show in 1985, it wasnt well recieved, so they redesigned it, and thus the NES was born. That thing used to be in the consumer service department at NOA in Redmond, WA. They always had it under glass, but they didn't show it playing Tetris!

The 'desert storm' GameBoy is infamous -- I remember first reading that letter to the editor in Nintendo Power all those years ago.

Aperently the GameBoy was brought brand new in 1989 or 1990 for someone in the army. Makes sence -- portable gaming system and soliders spend a lot of time sitting on their hands. He was in Saudi Arabia at the time and when the Desert Storm started took the GameBoy with him into Iraq.

Well, it gets hot in the desert. I mean, REALLY hot. With the sun in mid day, it can reach around 110-130 degrees. The GameBoy can handle those temps, but the solider left the unit sitting in the sun by accident. When he found it, he found it was badly melted.

But to his shock, it still worked!

Amazed, he wrote that letter to NP. I'm not sure if he contacted Nintendo or Nintendo contacted him when he returned to the States, but the unit ended up in Nintendo's hands where it was on display for everyone to see at Nintendo's HQ in Redmond Washington. They even turned it on now and then to show it worked.

A ringing endorsement of how tough Nintendo's systems are and what you can do to them and they still work. :D

I want that, the controllers looks better than the original NES controllers, although I must say the system looks worse than the actual NES. Also, the keyboard is damn cool looking. Ten bucks DreamTR has one of these! :-P
