Anyone played this game? I don't own it but it looks like it would be right up my alley. Can anyone tell me anymore about it? Or anything about it? How rare is the PAL version as the rarity guide is saying ZERO at the moment!

WHat other 2-D/pseudo 3D games are good that were released early on the in playstation's life?

Don't know about rarity across the pond, but even at an R7 here, It's real cheap to purchase (Saturn version, too). I love the game personally. It's a (very hyper) submarine shooter with a really Metal Slug vibe to it. Don't hesitate to get it when you get the chance.

Metal Slug X would be the next logical choice. Shmups.com is a really good source for info. Many a curiosity will be satisfied there.

we'll soon reach the rarity/price of the letter "I". The PAL version is pretty uncommon to say the least.

My short overview; In the Hunt earns the nickname Metal Sub as the rumor is many on the development team went on to create the Metal Slug series and it shows both in gameplay and style. It's much like a horizontal shmup mixed with Metal Slug type running and shooting. Excellent concept and a really fun game.

However...neither of the ports are all that great. Graphics and sounds are there, but there's slowdown and some ugly loading times. I keep these around for the collection, but I must admit when I want to play In the Hunt, I turn to MAME as it's a much more satisfying experience.

I played it for a minute. Wasn't impressed so I turned it off. If I come across it again I'll be sure to give it a 2nd chance.

my grandfather has this game (hes 80 years old btw). I played it awhile ago, and from what I remember theres a TON of onscreen action going on at once, and slowdown as said, but it did seem pretty fun.
