Spike announced (I believe they officially announced that they are in the process of making a new one) that they are working on a new game in what was thought of as a dead series; Fire Prowrestling. I really want to get it when it comes out (rumored to be out by July or August of this year) but I don't know that I will have the money. How about any of you? Any big Fire Pro fans here?

I guess I'm the only one around here that is interested :( To keep on topic here are there any Fire Pro fans at DP? Right now the only one that I own is D for the Dreamcast. Great game. Can't wait for this new one, supposed called 'Fi-Pro R,' to come out. Its has supposedly been confirmed to be on a dvd this time around which should be awesome if they put a lot of content on it. Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling now :D

Whoa I should start checking the import forum more often! They're making a new one??? I guess King of Colosseum didn't do as well as they'd hoped.

I'm a Fire Pro fan, but I haven't played enough of the games. The first GBA game got me hooked, and I won the last (I think) Super Fami one off Ebay for a buck, but it wasn't nearly as good. I wanna pick this up...geez....imports want to break me.

Yeah, the news of the new one came out like 2 or 3 weeks ago and they are looking at bringing it out by this summer sometime. That is how Spike is; don't tell anyone of a new game until about 3 months till it is released. Yeah, I was shocked as well when I first heard about it coming out. Have you played D yet? If not then you should for sure check it out. I haven't played KoC2 yet but I have heard that it is thought of as being one of, if not the, best wrestling game ever made.

For some reason I can never make myself buy a copy of Fire Pro D on Ebay because they are on there all the time. Have you played any KoC games? I've read reviews and all they've ever said is "best wrasslin ever" and no details about the game engine.

No, unfortunately I haven't ever had the chance to play any of them. This summer I am looking at buying a conversion kit for my ps2 just so that I can play KoC2 as well as Fi-Pro R. If I get both of those games that means I would have a great 2d wrestling game (FP R is expected to remain true to the series by being in 2d) and then I would have a great 3d wrestler as well :D

You really should pick up a copy of D. I finally bought it a few months ago and I haven't regreted it since. I started getting obsessed with it, too, especially once I finally bought a VMU card and an extra controller. Making characters for your own federation is a ton of fun. My friend and I are making the AAW, or All American Wrestling, promotion, which features all original wrestlers that I have been making up in wrestling games since WWF Warzone. Anyway, enough of my rambling :P I do recommend that you pick up a copy of it.

I'll try and pick it up for a bit cheaper later, but I'm not running out to pre-order it. I love the Firepro games, but there often isn't that much in the new series to justify the costs of importing it new.

Yeah, very true. Hopefully this time will be different, though. I'm hoping that they really pack with tons of new things. Now that they are using a dvd for the game they have plenty of space with the game being 2d and all.

So, I'm hoping for another several hundred extra moves, a bigger create-a-belt, more wrestlers, much more things to do when it comes to creating a federation: such things as making the ring look just how you want it to look with what color the entire mat is, what color the ropes are, what color the turnbuckles are, what logo you want on the aprons, what type of security railing you want on the outside (meaning do you want the metal fence type or one like at the WWE shows). Also, even though I usually don't care too much for them, I hope that they work on the intros a little bit more.

I'll be there day one. I've been a fan since 6MS on Saturn. D was probably my favorite of the series, with 6MS slightly behind. 6 player Fire Pro... *drool*. I even preordered the Fire Pro Z LE back when it was announced to be the final Fire Pro game. It's a shame Z was such a let down IMO.

I'm hoping this new Fire Pro fixes up some of the issues with Z and adds in some new stuff. I haven't heard otherwise, but I really hope it remains 2D.

I've got KoC Red and while it is probably my favorite 3D wrestling game I still prefer Fire Pro. It's definitely a hell of a lot better than most of the garbage they pass off as wrestling games in the Us IMO. I've still gotta pick up KoC 2 one of these days....

I have Blazing Tornado for the Saturn, it's supposed to be a Fire Pro Gaiden. Wish I could find a new copy of 6MS, but if that ever shows up on ebay, I bet it will go for big bucks. All I ever see is used copies, and not very many of those.

Out of interest, how easy are the King of Colosseum games to pick up to a non-Japanese speaker? It's just that my local indie store is selling a copy of the sequel at £19.99 and I'm kinda tempted but not if there's masses of Jap text as in most of the Fire Pro games.

Is Six Man Scramble that rare? I just got one off n-g.com in mint condition for $10 shipped. Haven't tried it yet though.

I'm a Fire Pro D fan from quite a ways back... have a nexus card just so I can download edit packs and pop 'em on there for instant 'real' rosters.

I'm not sure how much English the KoC games have, but honestly it doesn't take much time at all to get used to the Japanese writing. I don't know a thing of how to read it and I fly through the game (the game being Fire Pro D) without using much by the way of guides anymore. I would go ahead and pick up a copy of it.

I recently picked KOC 2 up and it's wonderful. Definitely worth a look if you have the ability to play it. As far as text goes, it's a mixture of Japanese with some bits of English. The Main Menus are in both English and Japanese, but the rest of the game is in Japanese only(mainly katakana). With a little trial and error you should be fine. Plus, there are wonderful translations available. It's easily worth the trouble.

As in the Fire Pro Games you can rename all of the wrestlers to english. This is a long and repetitive task but it can help out when trying to pick your wrestler from the 150 or so choices. The only downside? In Survival Road(think carrer mode) the wrestlers retain their original names.

After quite a bit of playtime, I'm left with only one major flaw: Loading times. The loading can be downright brutal. It really interrupts the flow when you have to wait upwards of a minute for a match to load. Still, an otherwise small flaw in a truly amazing game.

I'm so excited about FPR considering they said the Z would be the last installment. Its scheduled to come out in august so untill then i'm trying to score a copy of KOC2 to play. Is it me or are Fire pro Players like liquior license's. I can't find anyone in my area to even give it a shot.

Well, some updates on the new game. I got my info from Spike's main site: http://www.spike.co.jp/fr/

and on the fire pro r board on gamefaqs.com: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=927675

as well as the fire pro d board at gamefaqs.com as well:http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=580485

Anyway, there will finally be a cage match, and what a cage it is. The thing is huge. You can also do attacks off of it. You can find a picture on Spike's Fire Pro R site that shows Bull Nakano doing a leg drop off of the cage. Pretty sweet looking.

There is a new type of move now that has the computer take over and do the move. An example of this would be the new running kick that Kawada does to his opponent's (who is sitting on the ground in the middle of the ring) head. The player started the move by pressing the right button and then the computer took over and ran Kawada to a far rope and back to the opponent to kick him in the face. There is also a 619 now, which is the same way (though, I think this one is done in the corner instead of on the ground).

Intros all look more detailed. The crowd has more detail to them. The wrestler's do some taunts during the intro and there are some new camera angles now. Its not a huge leap from the intros of D and Z but a nice change. I don't know what the intros are like in real time as I have only seen pics of them.

There is now apparently a face editor now :D which should be very cool. You can see this by looking at page one or two of the pics page on Spike's FPR site. It shows what seems to be a pretty detailed editor.

Anyway, that is pretty all of the info. I think that there may be a couple of things I'm missing, but that's all I could remember at the moment :D I can't wait for it. Should be an excellent game.

Go on over to Spike's FPR site (the first link that I provided) and check out their videos and pics. All of the videos that they have so far are only moves, but they are still very cool to see.

There are a lot of new move videos up at Spike's Fire Pro R site. Go check em out. There is a brand new re-animated Burning Hammer now. Looks awesome. Very brutal looking :eek 2: Plus, lots of other very cool looking moves. Go check em out.

Well I finally found a new copy of 6 Man Scramble on ebay for only $40 plus shipping, so of course I jumped on it! I'm really looking forward to it too. Blazing Tornado is alright, but I've heard so much about 6MS, it will be cool to play it.
