Can these empty boxes possibly be worth that much or do you think that the buyer though that he wasgetting boxed copies of the game?

I am sure someone would pay close to that amount for 2 boxes of Stadium Events or Bubble Bobble 2 or any other very rare Nes game.

I'm pretty sure the winning bidder knew what he was getting.
That price doesn't seem to out of whack to me, considering he'll be able to complete his copy, then resell the extra box.
The real money in classic games is in the boxes.
A loose Chuckwagon is less than $100, add the box & docs, and it's $500 strong.
Crazy Climber is the same way, $500 range now complete. But it rarely breaks $100 loose.
Quadrun loose is usually under $200, complete it's probably around $750+ probably over $1000.
It's all about the boxes baby!

How can you tell what the BIN was once the options to use it is gone?
Damn, I don't care if it's a rare (so-called) box or not, that's a lot of money!!! I've got the box and game, and didn't pay anywhere near that much...

Read the questions in the auction, someone asked about the BIN.

I can safely say this is true :)
I'd be more then happy to spend 227 dollars on a stadium events box or any of the super rare NES games... now bubble bobble 2... not so much... maybe 15-20 for one of those. Hell, remember what that complete SE fetched? wasn't it near 2 Gs?

I thought SE sold for around $1K complete around a year & a half ago. Has it gone up that much?

maybe it was that much, i can't recall, but it was well over 1000
my point is... there just isn't any complete Stadium Events out there to be had... just loose ones every couple months (currently going for around 400 now  )
So, i'd definately be down with piecing together a Stadium Events. I already have the manual outta the way... just looking for a cart and box now.
