Okay, I had a model 2 Sega CD with a model 2 Genesis. The Sega CD worked last time I tryed it,.. but my Genesis that I used for it broke.. That was a while ago. So I got a new model 2 Genesis recently and I can't get the Sega CD to work... The problem is, it's not reading a disc, or even spinning it... The outerspace screen comes up when I power it up... but nothing further...... I've opened it up, and poked around at stuff.. but... No luck... Any suggestions?

Is it plugged in?
Is the TV plugged in?
Is the TV "on"?
Are you facing the screen?

Need to move this thread to the tech support section

Yet, I firmly say, the CD Drive needs to be replaced

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking.. but what kind of CD drive would I need to replace it with?

PS: Sorry, could someone move this to the technical forum? I didn't realize it was there..(All the way at the bottom)

Okay I was wrong...

It isn't actually powered up. It shows the Outer Space scene, even if I don't have the Sega CD plugged in. Also the light isn't coming on.

I know that there isn't anything wrong with the AC adaptor, because I tryed it with my NES, and it powered up..(probably a bad idea.)

I guess it's got something to do with a fuse? I looked around it, and I couldn't really locate a fuse... And I don't really have any soldering experience, so I don't know if I could repair it.

Any suggestions?

Here's a link to fixing the internal fuse of a Mega CD 2.
Not sure if that helps but its something i remembered when you mentioned it being a fuse problem.
